Structure Fire - Pawling Fire District - 660 Old Quaker Hill Rd. - 3/7/09 : Fire destroys a large multi-million dollar estate in Pawling. Photo's of a structure fire that occurred on March 7, 2009 in Pawling N.Y. The structure was a 9000 sq. ft. 2 1/2 story mansion that was built out of a former barn. The structure which was ~ 200 ft. wide by 50 ft. deep was equipped with a residential fire sprinkler system that was operational at the time of the fire. The structure had a thatched roof (As in hay) which ultimately led to the destruction of the building when an apparent chimney fire spread to the same. Firefighters attempted to use roof saws to vent the roof and cut around the fire but were unable to do so when the hay became jammed in their saw blades making them inoperable. Once the fire burned underneath the thatched roof and above the residential fire sprinkler system, it began to take control of the building and eventually destroying same. The house reportedly contained millions of dollars of uninsured art work that was lost in the blaze. The structure also contained three expensive autos in the garage in the lower level which were saved after an excavator that the structures owner had stored on site was placed into service to make a trench cut in the roof.... This trench cut was successful in stopping the fires progression but unfortunately most of the structure was already lost.. Over thirty pieces of apparatus from 12-plus departments from N.Y. and Connecticut battled the blaze.

You can watch some unedited, hand-held video clips of this fire here: http://www.vimeo.com/3633673

DAILY PHOTOS 2010

end of the year- time to head for warmer weather

Texas Snow Storm : This cross country journey began on a warm spring day in 2007 when Brian sat across from me and suggested that we jump on some motorcycles we were looking at and travel west; I said “Yes!†He just met me so I don't think he knew at the time how serious I was. 2 years later, during a late night phone call, he told me that I was welcome to come with him as he drove across country to start a new life in Phoenix, Arizona; by morning I accepted the invitation much to the surprise of both of us.

This trip was about reaching for memories, old and new, and standing exactly in every moment along the way, trying on emotions without considering what it looks like or how others might feel to see someone familiar take a different form.

This trip was about honesty with one’s self and with each other and everything that we have come through.

This album is a tribute to following dreams, at the cost of everyone and everything, and fully understanding the price that one pays to recognize an open door; and running to catch it before it closes. These pictures show a woman walking a friend to the threshold of his dreams, and she is with him, though she goes unseen because her life is about to begin and this is as far as either one of them can go without betraying everything that they have both been sacrificing for.

This is the end of a journey, and the beginning of a life.

I dedicate this to you Brian, may it always remind you that love and friendship are unconditional.
