Structure Fire - Pawling Fire District - 660 Old Quaker Hill Rd. - 3/7/09 : Fire destroys a large multi-million dollar estate in Pawling. Photo's of a structure fire that occurred on March 7, 2009 in Pawling N.Y. The structure was a 9000 sq. ft. 2 1/2 story mansion that was built out of a former barn. The structure which was ~ 200 ft. wide by 50 ft. deep was equipped with a residential fire sprinkler system that was operational at the time of the fire. The structure had a thatched roof (As in hay) which ultimately led to the destruction of the building when an apparent chimney fire spread to the same. Firefighters attempted to use roof saws to vent the roof and cut around the fire but were unable to do so when the hay became jammed in their saw blades making them inoperable. Once the fire burned underneath the thatched roof and above the residential fire sprinkler system, it began to take control of the building and eventually destroying same. The house reportedly contained millions of dollars of uninsured art work that was lost in the blaze. The structure also contained three expensive autos in the garage in the lower level which were saved after an excavator that the structures owner had stored on site was placed into service to make a trench cut in the roof.... This trench cut was successful in stopping the fires progression but unfortunately most of the structure was already lost.. Over thirty pieces of apparatus from 12-plus departments from N.Y. and Connecticut battled the blaze. Miccosukee Tribe Arts Festival / January 1, 2005 : Every year from December 26 through January 1, the <a href="http://www.miccosukee.com/tribe.htm" target="_blank"> <b>Miccosukee Tribe</b></a> has an annual art festival. One can see the color and pageantry of costumed Indians from all over America at the Village. Native Americans sell their arts, crafts, and food in booths.

Pilatus pix : The Pilatus came to me 9/2001 and left 9/2004. I flew about 700 hours in those 3 years. It was a great airplane. 408LB now resides incognito (the new owners painted it white) in SoCal at Pomona.

On Golden Ponds : “The technique I use mostly these days, I call Digital Painting, it is based on my longstanding desire to merge painting and photography –15 years ago I was printing black and white images on canvas. I coated the canvas with silver emulsion, and later tinted and colored them by hand. It was a laborious and inexact process – but I loved the feeling of the canvas and felt frustrated with the smoothness of the photographic paper. Today I process my images digitally and have them printed on canvas or watercolor paper through the giclée process. Although it is still not a perfect process, one which requires several rounds of proofing and color corrections, it is very close to my dream of merging painting and photography into a single art. I spend a great deal of time working on individual images, creating numerous layers, erasing, shifting and changing colors; I often end up with several versions of a single image. After they are printed, I finish the pieces with oils, acrylics, pastels, or loose pigments. I also enjoy further embellishing them with Silver, Gold, or Copper Leaf.
