The boys have started using the GoPro they gave "me" for xmas last year. The results are pretty interesting. LR4 allows end trimming, but no stabilization or removal of mid-clip waste lands. So, I've started pulling the clips into iMovie '11 for tune-up. It takes forever for iMovie to analyze a clip, longer again to export it, and then you end up with 800Mb. I import iMovie's output into LR4, then export it with medium quality (for a 3:1 compression). The LR4 exports are easier on SmugMug's uploader, and the quality doesn't suffer that much. I got Ethan his own SmugMug "Power" account for xmas.

We're trying to get Chase into snow boarding, but he's being difficult. Yesterday we bought Ethan a new long board (to replace one stolen from their car parked at Alta). Chase likes Ethan's board, and did okay with linking turns. I got out my carve board for the first time in two or three years. With the tires pued up to 39psi it was usable. It carves like a beast. Ethan & Chase rode all three boards. I like Ethan's new board more than my carve board: more stable, lighter, and lower to the ground. 26Mar11
