Alton At Noon : An effort to capture good images at mid day. You know, when 'conventional wisdom' says the light isn't 'good enough'. They aren't all gems in this gallery, but some are pretty good, I think. I also think I've proven that the light is good enough, and it really boils down to the same old question, is the photographer 'good enough'? I don't think I'm done with Alton, Illinois just yet. Even the ugly parts are remarkably photogenic; though I am running out of time. If I don't get what I want by the end of summer '09, it's Adios Alton! These are all shot with an Olympus E500. and the excellent 14 - 54 mm zoom lens.

Fort Myers, Florida : Photos taken at the 18th International HIV Drug Resistance Workshop, Sanibel Harbour Hotel, Fort Myers, Florida. Click on any photo to see the set larger or see the slideshow (strongly recommended!). I took these photos early in the morning or in the afternoons, after the talks had ended. Early morning in Florida was relatively cool and the mosquitos were fewer, but I noticed more animals were out later in the day.
