Top of the hill. Cow Knob was a place where there used to be a fire tower. The tower stood about 40 feet off the ground and was located on a high point on the mountain. The tower was manned during peak fire season. I can remember as a kid climbing the tower and looking out over the surrounding country side. It was a great experience. The towers became obsolete and were torn down.
