ADVrider > popular today > Once-upon-a-time....... Dirt bike's were pretty. Beautiful even. There was a brief time in the mid-to-late 1970's when it all came together for the good. Small companies with unique visions of what a dirt bike should look like still existed, and they produced some outstanding performance art. In fact , it can be argued, that the 1970's ISDT efforts of Bultaco, Husqvarna, Maico, and CZ represented Adventure Motorcycling in it's purist form. Road legal (well....sorta), but nothing on the motorcycle that was superfluous. I picked up a somewhat neglected version of a 1977 Bultaco 370cc mk-10, model M181, Frontera a few days ago. It will eventually, I hope, look like the bike in the picture. I have not had the opportunity to work on a "smoker" in 20 years. I am really looking forward to this one.

   Stay-tuned.
