Day 4: Lake Nakuru : Today we visited Lake Nakuru, but not before stopping at a rest stop where fresh goat was served up at 9am. Nakuru was the only park we'd see rhinos in & we saw 7 white rhinos! Sadly, we didn't see the massive number of flamingos that should've been at the lake. When we returned to the lodge, I was entertained by a troop of vervet monkeys who literally surrounded my porch eating the flowers & raiding the lodge next door of their sugar packets. And while walking around the grounds, I saw several Colobus monkeys jumping around the main lodge!

Day 6: Amboseli, Masai Village & School : We spent time at a Masaai Village & school today. The chief, Joseph, was a wonderful host, introducing us to his family & explaining how the village operates. We walked a short distance to the school where we interacted with some of the older kids. Then we went back to the village where we were treated to a mock wedding celebration w/lots of dancing & singing. It was so beautiful! The afternoon game drive was filled w/lots of elephants, zebras & a gorgeous sunset on Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Day 5: Amboseli : Today was one of the longest drives on our trip: Lake Nakuru to Amboseli, with a pit-stop to view the Great Rift Valley. The first animal we saw in Amboseli was the very elusive Serval cat & then herds & herds of elephants. We saw our first lion pride here too, which Christian describes as "breathtaking". They were stalking a lone wildebeest which only added to the adrenaline rush (ended up being unsuccessful.) My wish was to see Mt. Kilimanjaro & that wish was granted shortly before we had to head back to camp... complete w/elephants in the foreground! This is a beautiful park, one of my favorites of the trip!
