Plaque, part 2...
The route...I'd follow the trail around the west shore of Orphan Lake, out to Lake Superior at the Baldhead River, and back via Orphan Lake's east shore...
The Agawa Bay Cliffs...unfortunately the stiff west wind was blowing up some huge waves making it far to dangerous to get down close to the petroglyphs...
Not mountains, but for the midwest this is MASSIVE! These cliffs rise some 200 Meters (600+ feet)...it's just not fair we can't have cool stuff like this in Michigan, just 20 miles to the south!
Welcome to Gros Cap! The Canadian Shield rises some 150-200 meters (500-650 feet) directly out of Lake Superior here...quite an awesome place!
The first views of Old Woman Bay...literally breathtaking...
Plaque, part 3...
Tenfish Lake from the summit...the reason I love the Algoma District so much? Can you see any human development in ANY of the pictures in this album?!
