Recent Galleries

Alien Planets : These are images created via the process as described on the Photojojo site (http://content.photojojo.com/tutorials/create-your-own-panorama-planets/). Thank you to John Bennett for faithfully providing this link each time he posts one of these 'planets'. The gallery is sorted by caption, with each planet being given a unique index which appears in the title line. I'll try to upload the starting image that was the basis for each planet. Newer uploads will appear later in the gallery because of my chosen sorting mode. I welcome critiques, constructive criticism, suggestions. I'm still very much in an experimental mode, trying to learn what works and what doesn't. If you make these faux planets yourself, leave a comment, preferably with a link, so I can view your efforts.

Fun with filters : If you've reached this far, please take the time to 'leaf through' the gallery a page at a time. You might find something you like better than what you see on the first page. Newer entries are at the back of the gallery. Typically I've placed at least two versions of each image here, an original for purposes of comparison, and at least one modified version. Each set based on a given original is numbered, and within each set the different versions are indexed. By putting these numbers in the first line of each caption, and sorting the gallery by caption, I can add different versions at various times, and keep related images together. This means, though, that the newer sets are at the end of the gallery. Note added December 2011: All my post-processed 'filtered' versions of abstracts of close-ups of water and ice are now in a new gallery, 'Pure Filtered Water', seen here: http://arctangent.smugmug.com/Photography/Creative-Alterations/Pure-Filtered-Water/20814839_MQzg93 Warning: you can't always tell from a thumbnail that much has been done, so I encourage you to "open" each modified version, preferably in one of the larger sizes. Better yet, view them via slideshow. Please give me some feedback - as blunt and honest as you like - or better yet, constructive suggestions. Enjoy!
