Steamboat Spurts, Yellowstone NP, WY    Steamboat geyser is the tallest in the world.  Unfortunately it doesn't go off very often.  I was only there for about twenty minutes, but it sure looked active to me.  These little 3-4 foot spurts might have been foreboding a bigger eruption later in the day.
September of 1991 had a different feel at Lake St Marys St. Mary Lake in Glacier National Park is absolutely stunning. This long and big lake is surrounded by huge, steeply rising mountains on three sides, with gently rolling prairie and forested hillsides found along its eastern shoreline. The water is exceptionally clear and remains quite cool all summer long.
