Bennett-Curtis House I 05-09-2009 : The Bennet-Curtis House is a 1900 turn-of-the-century mansion. Located at 302 West Taylor Street, Grant Park, Illinois, only 15 minutes from the Kankakee area. The house is surrounded by beautiful gardens, majestic maple trees, and bubbling fountains.

The Bennet-Curtis House is celebrating its seventh year in business. Located downstairs is "A Bride's Dream Come True Bridal Shop," featuring everything you need to plan your wedding or event. Even "Dream Come True" travel agency, tuxedos, invitations, "Dreams in Ice" ice sculptures, and much more. The new addition to the garden room has added a 400 square foot dance floor and features a 100 year old bar. Step out of the garden room to the deck to overlook the beautiful gardens, truly a sight to see!

The owners are Scott and Kerry Zizic, whom live on the premise with their 4 children. Scott is an accomplished chef. He has been in the business for over 20 years, specializing in creating a unique and memorable event, from the food presentation to the decorations. Some special events include Cigar Dinners, "Jazz under the Stars," Mystery Dinners ( including the famous "Murder in the Mansion" ), Fund raisers, the Bennet-Curtis majestic Wedding Ceremony and Reception, and much more!

Scott has displayed his culinary skills at the Premier Night at romantic Home Magazines featured home. He demonstrated and prepared many fantastic dishes for all the V.I.P. guests. He has conducted numerous seminars on all aspects of planning a wedding, and has had articles published in Chicago Wedding Pages. Scott was featured in Elegant Bride, the Herald Newspaper Bride's Guide, and many others wedding papers.

Bennet-Curtis House II : The Bennett-Curtis House 18 room mansion was built in 1900 by George M. Bennett. Then purchased by Illinois Senator Edward C. Curtis in 1919. The House is set on spacious ground shaded by 100 year old maples flanked by bubbling fountains, sweeping lawns, lush cool ferns & colorful flowers.
The interior is beautifully decorated featuring crown molding, oak trims in-lay wood floors, moray cloth covered walls, stain glass, velvet drapery and more. If you are looking for a unique and historical setting for your wedding ceremony and reception, the Bennett-Curtis House is it. Senator Curtis and wife held their very own reception in the house over 75 years ago.
