If you asked him a question, he says, "ya ya no problem go" without really looking at all. Tends to make you a little nervous when you are about to throw yourself off a ledge about 135 feet above the ground. "But you are sure i put this harness on right?" BackpackingSouthEastAsia > popular all-time > Once you go across (down) one cable, you have to hike up through the jungle to get to the top for the next cable. On one hike, I saw the biggest snake i have ever seen in the wild slither past about one step infront of me. He was atleast 8 feet long, but he was going so fast my eyes couldn't catch up with his head. He was black with about a 4 inch diametre.
BackpackingSouthEastAsia > popular all-time > Taken down the valley while zipping across. Those tree tops are well over 100ft high.
BackpackingSouthEastAsia > popular all-time > There are a couple cables that are not sloped quite enough so you have to pull yourself backwards the last few metres to the deck. The rope closest to him with the pulley is the harness, and the further one is a "safety",most were worn 1/2 way through because you pull on it as a brake, if you are coming in too fast which you do on a few cables. The alternative would be smacking into the tree at the end of the cable.
BackpackingSouthEastAsia > popular all-time > The interior of treehouse #2. Thats the big bug-net around each bed, or set of beds. Also the little kitchen area on the right. This one also had a higher level with bathroom, and there was a sitting area right behind the camera. Oh ya, i just remembered i saw the biggest spiders of my life (as far as "in the wild") on the ceiling of this treehouse. Had to be a quarter pounder, and then there was the really big one! The bodies themselves were bigger than a golfball and then they had the really thick meaty legs. Since there were no guides around this night i didn't really know if they were anything to worry about. The next day our trusty, dependable guides told us that there are no poisonous spiders here...still not sure if i should have worried.
BackpackingSouthEastAsia > popular all-time > IN SUMATION ---ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO YOU IS YOUR FAULT --BUT FEEL FREE TO SUE IN LAOS.
BackpackingSouthEastAsia > popular all-time > Damn asian cats can never get enough vegetables and rice. This guy lives in the treehouse and doesn't eat catfood at all, actually i don't even know if catfood exists here...?
BackpackingSouthEastAsia > popular all-time > HEADING TO NEXT LINE THRU STEEP JUNGLE.
BackpackingSouthEastAsia > popular all-time > View across canopy from treehouse
