Smith Oaks Rookery @ High Island on 4/7/09 : Braving beginnings of pneumonia, but only happens a few weeks a year. Egrets still nest building, but laying and hatching. Roseatte Spoonbills waiting on the Egrets nests. In the mean time the spoonbills play 'tag you're it, 'hide and go seek', 'here we go round the mulberry bush,' and other playground games. I did see a couple takin' some serious showers. There are plenty of alligators waiting for lunch to fall from the sky.

Pito real - Green woodpecker : Llevaba casi 2 años tratando de "cazarle" en mi jardín. Pero es muy esquivo y no hay forma de acercarse. Por fin ayer, a través de la ventana y a pesar de la poca luz, lo logré. For 2 years I've been trying to catch him in my garden. But he0s very elusive and there is no way to get close to him. Finally yesterday, through a windows and with poor light, I got him.
