Birds > popular all-time > Cooper's Hawk (male)
Accipiter cooperii
Parkwood Hills area, Ottawa, Ontario

I found this devilish accipiter in a pine across the street from Ottawa's overwintering Townsend's Solitaire. Fortunately the solitaire is still alive and kicking, but this hawk has been reported several other times patrolling the area, so it may only be a matter of time...

See the Townsend's Solitaire in the Thrushes & Finches gallery.
