Barred owl? I was incredibly lucky with this series of photos. I was driving along at 50 mph, spotted him but went past him. Stopped the car, had to get the long lens out, turned around and drove back past him. LOL. I had to turn around again to be able to shoot out the driver's window. Anyway, this wonderful bird was so patient. I stopped the car and moved it twice but didn't try to get out. Usually, the car acts as a blind. Anyway, it was 10 below.
The Lady Love Returns Evidently though, she's keeping two irons in the fire. A male from another nest, whose mate hasn't arrived yet, has been making time with her when her mate is away. When her mate comes into view she is all 'Pew! Pew! Pew!' warning the intruding male off ... but NOT until then! Saucy wench ain't she. *Although I expect you other ladies to say she is just being practical* :)

No Comment I think I've been terrorizing these ducks for too long now.
Come hither, hansome! Success! After all that nest building and courting ... his lady love decides she'll shack up with him for another year :) P.S. Can you be arrested for possessing osprey porn? :)
