This is a photograph of a Tri-colored Heron in breeding colors. Worked my way up to him slowly for a up close shot when another male approached. As he flared up I was able to capture this image (St. Augustine 4/06).

Red Bellied Woodpecker, Female, In Snow Yep, we ended up with a foot of snow from this storm. Not usual at any time in this area, but downright freaky that it happened in March.
Red Tailed Hawk caught perching in Grand Prairie, Texas. She allowed me to get very close because she was fixated on some prey below her I believe, Feb. 2007.
