Birds > popular today > The Lilac-Breasted Roller is the national bird of Botswana. Photographers tend to love Rollers due to their bright plumage and general lack of skittishness - you can get quite close to them a lot of the time, like this nice detail shot demonstrates. For the sake of disclosure be aware that I clone-stamped out a bunch of extraneous limbs and branches to clean up this shot.
