San Georgio State Beach - 11/17/2006 : Taken at San Georgio State Beach in San Mateo, California.

A late afternoon ride down the Skyline Drive had me cutting west on La Honda Road and coming back up the PCH. San Georgio State Beach is at the intersection of La Honda and Highway 1. The sun was just finishing setting as I hastily unpacked all my gear and sprinted towards the shoreline. I got off a series of brackets for HDRs and did a small pano that didn't turn out as well as it could have. Ended up splitting my way through gobs of standstil traffic farther north in Half Moon Bay in the dark on the way home. It was worth it, though.

2006-08 - ANCIENT BRISTLECONE PINES : I knew I was in for a week of city life coming up so I cut out of Sacramento about 3 days before I was supposed to be in San Diego and headed down to the White Mountains. Over the last few years, this area has become a favorite with lots of wildlife, the oldest living things on earth (ancient Bristlecone Pines), the easiest 14K peak to climb in California, great views of the Sierra and clear, unihibited skys.

Neo-hippie Arcata (10/2006) : In October 2006, we drove to Humbold County and we really enjoyed staying in Arcata. The Saturday farmer's market is wonderful. The Bike Library is a great idea and the little town of Trinidad on the coast is a real jewel.
