Kambah - February 2006 : A walk around my suburb (Kambah) in the late afternoon. The light was perfect and the sunset magnificent, as usual. The colour of the tree barks is particularly spectacular this summer - must be all the rain we had in spring.

Mount Taylor November 2005 : Two walks up Mount Taylor in early evening. Lots of kangarros and everything beautiful and green from the recent rains. The views are south to Tugggeranong. The second walk shows how the vegetation is drying out. Many thanks to the kangaroo who contentedly posed for me!

Mount Tennant October 2005 : I walked up Mount Tennant, a mountain 1,380 metres high, south of Canberra. An overcast day with light rain falling on the descent. The walk took 4.5 hours and was around 11 kilometres. Extensive evidence all around of the effects of the devastating January 2003 bushfire. Very green all through the area although the mountain itself is in a rain shadow. I went up the the eastern face before going around the northern side and then up the western side. There the path joined with the fire trail coming from the south easst and following this trail led to the summit where the fire lookout is situated. A lovely walk.
