Tricks & Treats from Whoopi Goldberg, with the Master of Ceremonies Judy Gold and Costume Contest Judge Michael Kors. Renowned entertainer Bette Midler founded the nonprofit New York Restoration Project (NYRP) in 1995 with the belief that clean and green neighborhoods are fundamental to the quality of life and that every community in New York City deserves an oasis of natural beauty. NYRP partners with individuals, community-based groups, and public agencies to reclaim, restore, and develop under-resourced parks, community gardens, and open space in New York City, primarily in economically disadvantaged neighborhoods.

Lighthouse_October 5, 2009 : LAUREN BACALL, screen legend, headlined the star studded movie screening of her 1957 classic DESIGNING WOMAN in the AMPAS theatre at The Lighthouse
building on East 59th @ Park Avenue. CHARLES & CLO COHEN and REX REED were among the VIP guests along with MUFFIE POTTER ASTON, BARBARA TAYLOR & ROBERT BRADFORD, MARIO BUATTA, GEOFFREY BRADFIELD, FRANCINE LeFRAK & RICK FRIEDBERG, SHARON HANDLER & AMB. JOHN LOEB, CAROLE HOLMES McCARTHY, JAMES & CHARLENE NEDERLANDER, COMMISSIONER KATHERINE OLIVER, BUD ROSENTHAL (AMPAS-EAST COAST), and MARK ACKERMAN, CEO OF THE LIGHTHOUSE. Movie screening began at 5 pm, followed by a Q&A with Bacall & Reed. Dinner followed at 8:45 at Le Cirque, where LORENZO LAMAS and SHAYNE DAHL LAMAS joined the group.
