Liebenthal, KS : This entire area was founded by the first of Unsere Leule to leave Russia and settle in this area in 1876.  The Volga-German communities have kept their strong faith, shown in the churches and cemeteries of the area.   Liebethal is the oldest of the villages and is located, not in Ellis county, but in Rush county, KS., south and west of Pfeifer, located on Timber Creek.

Pfeifer, Kansas : A small German-Volga settlement in central western Kansas, Pfeifer is located about 10 miles south of Victoria on the south bank of the Smoky Hill River. The entire area was founded by the first of Unsere Leule to leave Russia and settle in this area in 1876.  The Volga-German communities have kept their strong faith, shown in the churches and cemeteries of the area.

Marble Cemetery : A very interesting cemetery on Second street in Manhattan. I never saw so many squirrels in one place except for other cemeteries. What is it with squirrels and cemeteries?

St. Joseph Mt. Morah Cemetery : Established in 1851 it is the oldest operating cemetery in Saint Joseph, MO. and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.  It is known for its  fine tomb architecture.  "Mausoleum Row"  represents some of the economic and social elite of this city.  Three MO. governors, M. Jeff Thompson, "The Swamp Fox" of the Confederacy, two Pony Express riders and two of Quantrill's Raiders  are among the famous buried here.
