The Carl Palmer Band: Shank Hall - Milwaukee, WI : (2006-06-11 - <a href="http://www.shankhall.com/" target="_blank">Shank Hall</a>) "Welcome Back My Friends to the Show Tha Never Ends...Ladies and Gentlemen, <a href="http://www.carlpalmer.com/" target="_blank">Carl Palmer!</a>" Okay, so Keith and Greg couldn't make it, but it was indeed a "Celebration of the Music of Emerson, Lake and Palmer" as Carl Palmer (perhaps my favorite drummer of all time) and his band of extremely talented young turks blazed their way through songs from every era in the ELP catalogue. And not a keyboard to be found! <a href="http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=85985995" target="_blank">Paul Bielatowicz</a> (a 16 year old phenom on guitar) and <a href="http://www.stuartclayton.com" target="_blank">Stuart Clayton</a> on bass (now in my team picture of favorite bassists) handled all the keyboard parts flawlessly, at times playing <b><i>both</i></b> rhythm and melody keyboaed riffs on their own instruments at the same time. Positively amazing! A completley different take on classic ELP songs, which was very refreshing, indeed. It was truly an honor to be able to photograph not only a giant in the world of percussion/Prog, but also these two very talented young players. My thanks - first and foremost - to Mr. Carl Palmer; Bruce and Harry; Pete Jest, Dave and all the rest of the fine staff at Shank Hall.

ROAM Event 11/11/06 : Roots of America Music Benefit, an old fashioned Rock, Roots, Rhythm & Blues Revue, feathering the Cleveland Stars of Roots of American Music. Along with some of the idividuals who attended.

Roots of American Music (ROAM) began in 1999 as the Fairmount Music Education Fund. The organization, a non-profit, 501(c) 3 corporation, currently employs more than 30 musicians/educators who collectively have thousands of school performances to their credit.

ROAM strives to create exciting roots-music-based assembly and residency programs that connect to state and district standards in the arts, social studies and other subjects.

ROAM’s programming content is as varied as the genres of music performed by the musicians. ROAM carefully works with municipal educators to create cross-curricular programming that emphasizes multiculturalism, racial and ethnic diversity and respect.

ROAM’s programs are often presented in schools that would otherwise not be able to offer their students any music education or performance.

ROAM’s residencies are filled with the joy of music, giving students the chance to sing, play, make instruments, learn about musical form and create their own music – while learning the history of their country, state, city and neighborhood.
