Bandera Days Parade - 2008! : The 2008 Bandera Days Celebration had a wonderful parade. My stepson Keegan commented on the number of horses in the parade. I reminded him he is in Texas now. This was very different compared to what we were accustomed to living in Illinois. There were several differences; The parade started out with Longhorns driven up the street from a cattle drive. In Illinois, there was usually a hometown high school band leading the parade, right after the grand marshall in an open convertible. Here, most of the horses were in the parade before the one band. Just the opposite in Illinois, with many high school bands and few horses, and the horses were always last. For some reason, they weren't interested in horse droppings in Illinois. Only one classic car in this parade, normally dozens in Illinois. Don't misunderstand, we loved the parade in Bandera, as we love Texas! I think it is fair to say, "A grand time was had by all".

2008 Shoot to Cure Diabetes - thanks to Moe Joe Werkin : There are many pictures in this gallery, and there may be more posted soon, too. These pictures were taken by three of the finest Renegades, Lawless Lori Sue, and Matthew Brady, & Moe Joe Werkin. You'll see lots of us cowboys & girls in these pix, and lots of folks from the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) community -- on whose behalf we ran this match. You'll also see pictures of our cowboy cooks. Thanks to Insulet Corporation (Omni Pod), the NM cowboys & cowgirls, and the diabetes community for their support of this event!
