DPChallenge > popular all-time > Day 3 - Starbuck's: The Nectar to the Gods

Ok, so if you have ever had the coffee from my lunch or break room, you would know that the flavor is somewhere between 90 weight motor oil and asphalt. I kid you not I think they import dirt from some remote location in Arizona to make that crap.

That being said:

My office is located in the Executive area of the building and in my own mind I have placed myself high on an executive pedastal; Therefore I should be able to sup from the carafe of goodness, and I do...

I say let the peasants drink the yucky stuff.
DPChallenge > popular all-time > WEEK 1
The Road to Meiji Shrine.
One of the major shrines in Tokyo, it enshrines the Meiji emperor and millions of people go there in the first three days of the year, many dressed in kimono, to pray for a good year. This was taken on the 5th, so not so many people, and very few dressed traditionally.
This is a view of the path leading from the shrine...
DPChallenge > popular all-time > Day 20 - Make your own kind of music.

Some companies throw little fun shindig type thingies for their employees every so often, some less often. We fall in the later group...We have taken the matter into our own hands.

Sometimes you have to make your own music and that is what we do... We started a little group called "Chicas Locas" (don't ask why it was all guys when it started) that every Friday one of us brings in enough grillage for the rest in the group. Others bring stuff to go along with it.

This Friday was Wizardry's turn on the grill. The burgers were great...

...the shot not so good. I blew the sky out badly and the over all composition was such a snap shot that I LA'd the heck out of it.
DPChallenge > popular all-time > Week 6. Taken 4th February

The one-way path to Urami ga Taki, which literally means the waterfall able to be seen from behind. Certainly in the old days, people could go behind it (as there is an old print of such a scene), but now there is a viewing platform at the end of the steps. This was my third or fourth time to the waterfall - the platform was built after my first time there, about three years ago. (My film camera fell into the water...)

It was a very windy day.

DPChallenge > popular all-time > Week 16 Taken 3rd April 2006

One of the many roads lined with cherry trees in Japan. This on is alongside the Honda Test Track in Haga Town.
DPChallenge > popular all-time > 15 October The only photo I took today, and it was from car while waiting at the lights. The man was having a smoko from doing the tree-trimming.
THE house is an old traditional-style house, and there are some impressive blossom trees in the spring.
DPChallenge > popular all-time > 20 October My second pottery class today, so we received our work from the first class, glazed and fired at the teacher's studio. A two-week turn-around is much better than the thrown pot experience from Mashiko of 45 days - I still have to wait another couple of weeks for them ;-Þ
EVERYTHING shrinks. As the clay dries out and the water is replaced by nothing, the size of the pot or plate or cup or whatever ends up being about 70 or 80% of its original size.
THE marbled plate is made from two different kinds of clay; it has a clear glaze (and the pattern is actually better on the bottom). The two green dishes for fishes could have been one but I cut it in half - and will have to eat smaller fish ;-Þ The little bluish-white one was just practising with some left over clay. I didn't choose the colour of the glazes.
I took them to a park to photograph them after the class.
TODAY I made a long flower vessel to give to my cousin when I go home for Christmas and the other thing. ;-Þ
DPChallenge > popular all-time > Week 3
Reconstruction work on the busy Utsunomiya Ringroad (Route 4). It used to be a grassy channel, often filled with rubbish, but I guess they're now widening the road. Although it's slightly sorter in kilometres from work to home, I don't usually go this way because of the huge amount of traffic at peak hours.

The dummy just stands there lifting up his "Construction Work, Go Slow" banner at regular intervals.
