DPChallenge > popular all-time > 16 October Another photo from the car. Rather than wait at the lights, I took a side road short-cut and saw this pheasant standing on the road. He's in my headlights, but there's camera-shake because the engine was running... so to make a bad photo worse I over-sharpened it to the extreme to make it look like a deliberate arty effect. ;-Þ THIS may be the same pheasant I saw a few months ago about a kilometre south.

DPChallenge > popular all-time > 14 October My parents sent me this photo from around Christmas 1971 when I was 9 years old. It was taken by my grandfather at Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve. My grandfather was 80, the same age my father is now. That's my sister with the long plait, one of my brothers in the red shirt, and I guess it's my father with the camera. Fat lady is no relation. I did take some photos today but they were experimental, and if I'm ever going to do the experiment successfully, I'll put it in a FreeStudy.... ;-Þ
DPChallenge > popular all-time > 21 October This was my tenth and final shot of my Walkabout this morning, a bonsai tree bearing berries. Quite a few houses have bonsai trees on display; for some people it's a major hobby. THIS one was on top of the wall around the garden.
