365 Photo Experiment : This is Indigo's view of her world.This is where you can see my photo per day selection. I am not generally good at doing anything consistently. Except maybe, checking my FaceBook account. I'll see how I do with this challenge. Somedays, if we are all so lucky, I will post a picture I have taken that very day or during the week. More often, I will be searching my archives to find just the right photo to describe how I feel at that moment. Or just a picture that jumper out and shouted, "Hey, Indigo, it is my turn!" We deal a lot with taking turns and making everything seem equal and fair here.

Photo of the Day 2009 : On February 11, 2009, bored by the winter weather and in need of a creative project, I decided to challenge myself to take a photo every day for a year. I didn't, at first, plan on "going public" with my photos (this may be painfully obvious if you look at the earliest photos in this gallery), but once I joined the SmugMug Daily Photo Community and started receiving such great support from all the members here, I started working a little harder and taking the undertaking more seriously. Thus far, the project has been (mostly) a joy and a creative boon, although there are those days when I wake up wondering what on earth I'm going to photograph--but I've learned that there's always something, if I just look hard enough.

2009 daily pictures : A year in pictures, starting April 24, 2009. In an attempt to improve my photography, and keep a time history of it, then I'm putting this together. I hope it will inspire me to continue. I hope to post a picture here that I've at least taken recently, if not the previous day (I'm going to try to upload the next days the day before). I'd take a picture every day, but, well, I have a full time job outside of photography, not to mention I'm a graduate student... I've only been getting serious at photography for about the last 6 months, mostly through hearing about it in podcasts I listen to, and having a wife whose an artist. As I'm an engineer, well, I needed to have a more creative side to have more in common with her, and so I decided to give it a shot. I went a few times with a friend who is hard core into photography, and he taught me how to use a DSLR. I got my own (Used Canon 20d), and have been having fun since. Normally I only do contrast editing and cropping, but occasionally I'll have a desire to play with other things. I'm sure from time to time you'll see me venture into that realm. I'd like to learn more about such tools, and hope to get to learning all kinds of fun things. Often times I had a hard time choosing just one, and posted alternatives to my "Almost Dailies" gallery, seen at http://www.pearsonartphoto.com/gallery/8077136_NyPDu . Please leave a comment if you like the photo or have ideas on how to improve it. Thanks!
