Photo a Day Project 2009 : <html> <p><font size="4" face="Times New Roman"> A Photo a Day (also known as Project 365) - What is it?? It's exactly what the name implies - a photo is posted each and every day for a full year. You can choose to impose whatever rules or criteria you wish- some photographers insist that the photo be taken the same day it's posted, others will post an older photo that they "Photoshop" the day they post it, and still others don't impose any rules at all. My goal for this project is to take several photos every day and choose the best from that day to post. I have been able to stick to it for the most part (with one or two exceptions so far). I carry my Nikon D300 wherever I go- it's now like one of my limbs. It's one of the most challenging things I've ever committed to doing but so far it's been well worth it. If you've got a minute to spare, go ahead and hit the slideshow button. And don't be shy about giving a photo a “thumbs up” or even commenting if you see something you like. :D Lastly, for those visitors that aren't members of Smugmug, the photos posted to this gallery are critiqued by photographers that belong to the "Daily Community". If you click on the "DailyPhotos" link above (it's next to my name), you will be taken to a gallery with photos posted by other the members. Today's Child : Hello friends. Recently, I left a comment that was intended to be a compliment but very much upset one of the members of our group. After taking a few days to think about how to handle the situation, I came to the conclusion that I should not just disappear from this group which I treasure so much. However, I am going to refrain from commenting on images. If I say nothing, I can't say the wrong thing. Rather than commenting, I am resorting to the "thumbs up" style of rating. While I am not commenting, please know that I am looking at your images and rating my favorite 10 images each day with a "thumbs up". I've also changed this gallery to journal style. Do not feel the need to comment. If an image is particularly impressive and you really feel compelled to comment, you can click on the image and then on "details" to get a prompt to comment. My deepest heartfelt apology goes out to the member whom I offended even if he never reads this.

Project365 : What is Project365? Many have done photo a day projects before--most all better photographers than me. This is my attempt to improve my skills and avoid simply producing a photo a day with no progress. I hold no illusions that this will be some great work. Rather, I hope it will document the improvement a one photog over the course of a year. Unless noted, the photos are not cropped and untouched--I want to improve my in-camera composition and exposure control. Comments, feedback & hints are definitely welcomed and appreciated. The Latest Thing : My personal take on this group is to POST an image daily, not necessarily SHOOT an image and post it daily. I find it takes a lot of perseverance just to get a shot processed and loaded every day, and the discipline stretches me to continually improve my skills.

Brezskrben Daily Photos 2009 : This is a journal gallery to represent my 2009. This is a place for snapshots taken that day, so far I think I have only missed one day... and of course this is another way to attempt to learn new things with photoshop. I hope to improve my photography with this project and learn from all the great work I have seen in this online community. I will try not to have too many pet shots although sometimes they are the highlight of my day! Feel free to leave a comment (no log in needed, it asks for an email but you don't have to enter one), or click the thumbs up if you like the picture!
