DailyPhotos > popular all-time > 28.9.08 - The Sky is Bleeding I was surprised to wake up to heavy skies and rain this morning, but by mid-afternoon it was clearing up and I went for a run with my mate Andy. We're training for a 10km trail run round Sherwood Forest, and to be honest we both run more than 10km regularly, but the more you train the easier the run is on the day. But I digress... At about 6.30pm I thought a nice sunset might be developing, but there was no way I thought that it would turn into this! I've seen plenty of great sunsets, but I don't think I've ever seen colour like this before. I had to adjust highlights and shadows a bit to bring out the vapour trails on the right, which had been blown out slightly in camera, but this is very much what I saw. DailyPhotos > popular all-time > John Dee Holeman putting out a fire. Thanks for all the comments on yesterday's daily, even though I really goofed on the guitar info. I should have realized that wasn't John's new one in his hands, after all, I have photographed that same guitar many times. With that out of the way - I didn't pick up the camera today, with all the editing I had to do, so here's my favorite shot from Saturday's concert/birthday celebration, with a little touch of picnik thrown in for fun. The original can be seen in the newly posted gallery.I don't know if the stage lighting changed (dimmed) since my last shoot here on New Years, but for some reason the auto-focus was having a really hard time locking onto anything this time. I resorted to manual focus early on and paid the price dearly, with the largest percentage of out of focus shots I've ever experienced. I have a renewed respect for anyone who can shoot at f/2 in a very dimly lit room and still manage to accurately focus the old fashioned way on moving subjects. I'm ready for some outdoor events with good old sunshine to work with. :)
