He actually looks like he might be thinking about eating me in this shot, but he's just cleaning his paws!
He is sitting on top of one of my outdoor field specimens for my Thesis research. I measure these blocks at 5:30 in the morning and I have been for about 3 and a half years': this is the first time I have met the fox. He has obviously been the one giving us fits with our equipment over here though: see him eating through my temperature probes! http://angelajones.smugmug.com/Animals/Critters/12735367_nsTFE#1431718179_vKxDwDC

Hope you all have a great Monday!

Remaining barracks at the Perm 36 Gulag. (RS)

One of the USSR's harshest Gulag camps, Perm 36 is located about 100 kilometers from the city of Perm in the Ural Mountains. Built in 1946, this camp, and others in the region, housed about 150,000 prisoners, approximately one-third of the working population of the region. This barracks housed 250 men, mostly political prisoners.

The camp was closed in 1987 and is now a memorial to Gulag victims.
October 4, 2011 Twelve Spotted Skimmer - another capture from Lions Park, I used picnk to improve color saturation of the background and crop the photo, twelve spotted refer to the 12 dark spots on the wings (3 on each one). Thank you so much for your comments on my Blue-eyed darner yesterday.
April 22, 2011- Imposter!! During a routine roll call, the scuttlebutt around the chicken coup was that there was a spy amongst the group! Ah, such trickery! Someone's slicker than a rubber duck if you ask me. (Day 112:365 @sharkbayte)

Thank you for all the wonderful comments and suggestions on my photo yesterday!
July 25, 2010 - "Wonderment"

This candid image of our Granddaughter was taken yesterday at our Grandsons birthday party. I was sitting on the floor taking photos of our Grandson opening his presents, when I noticed that the bright light from the window just happened to fall on our Grandaughers face.
in a remote village in Northern Vietnam. I snapped this picture north of the village Sapa Vietnam which is one of the poorest but most beautiful regions of Vietnam. This little girl who is probably no more than 5 years of age is carrying and caring for her young brother while her parents work in the rice fields. They came down from their hut to meet us because we brought a few small candies for them to eat. The girl and boy had never tasted candy before and they were delighted with the small candies we gave them. The trip was heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. They had so little but treated every small gift as something amazing. While it seemed like I had so much compared to them, I realized when I was there that I had very little compared to them. They had learned to appreciate each other and their families as cherished possessions while I had been taught to cherish material things. It was a moment where I think we all had reason to envy each other. What an eye opening and life changing experience it was for me.
Fishing in the Sunrise

I was lucky when this boat at the mouth of the Indian River Inlet drifted right across the sun's reflection on the water.
March 30 2010 Six thousand Warriors

Ever wondered what 6,000 Terra Cotta Warriors look like. This shot was taken at the Forbidden Gardens, a Chinese Culture museum in Katy, Texas

Updated in 2012. Sadly the Forbidden Gardens closed down and all the Warriors were sold.
February 6, 2011-What'cha doing? I was shooting some birds and watching them through the lens, as I moved the camera I was expecting to see a bird and this is what popped up! I wasn't paying attention, never saw him come into the yard or my view. Nice surprise! Day 37-#365Project @sharkbayte
