2.3.08 - Golden Years. Some photos are moments of inspiration, pieces of technical brilliance or snatched opportunities. This one had been meticulously planned for sometime. I have been working out the best vantage points and sunset times eversince I moved to my current home last summer. Mid-afternoon today it was very grey and trying to rain, then suddenly it all blew through and the air cleared. Sensing a nice sunset I grabbed my gear and walked a few minutes to a local hill crest and waited as this golden lightshow developed. It took much longer to select the DP than I spent taking photos, and I will upload other contenders to my Lincoln Sunset Gallery later this evening (see here http://johnloguk.smugmug.com/gallery/4053411_yY5Qg#260994902 ).

I hope you like this shot as much as I do, and I am so glad that I live so close to this view!
Day 10 - The sun is reflected in water droplets on fir tree needles; please look at this in the large size and you'll see the starbursts in all the water drops. I took this shot a couple of months ago when we had our first bout of hoarfrost. I dashed out the take photos, but the sun was melting the frost faster than I could capture it. I ended up spending about two hours taking photos of water drops all over the garden and yard. I remember being so excited that I forgot to get breakfast for my poor long-suffering hubby. You all posted a lot of great images today. I really enjoyed looking through them all. It is amazing how much talent is here on smugmug. I am constantly being inspired to try new things by all the creativity I see here. So, thanks, everyone for being SUCH an inspiration! Hope your day is lovely. I know Dave is getting buried in snow again in Seattle. I think we're all ready for winter to end.
18.2.08 - Today has been another beautiful day. Hard frost to start, not a cloud in the sky all day, that low mist that characterises clear winter days, and a stunning sunset to finish things off. I often go for a run around sunset, my favourite time of day, and although carrying a camera tends to break up the run it is often worth it. Today was more photos than running, and I might even have a whole gallery for the rest of the shots (here it is http://johnloguk.smugmug.com/gallery/4363156_BFbUq#256100460 ). But here is today's offering, another take on "fire and ice", reflected sun and reeds in the icy river.
Now I lay me down to sleep....
Nana, a very cute puppy - Jan 24 2009

Today my Caroline had to do her license test agility with Blue (which they passed easily), time to see our agility friend again and some new puppies. This little gal stole my heart instantly, good job she's already taken ;-) So I have to settle with some pictures of her.

April 11, 2009 Those eyes - say it all.
I think this might be a self portrait as this is was how I looked most of the time.

I'll catch up shortly and give updates.
