April 11, 2009 Those eyes - say it all.
I think this might be a self portrait as this is was how I looked most of the time. I'll catch up shortly and give updates.

08/07/10 - Beauty on Orange For the 3rd day this week, I took my lunch break at Porter Farms and Nursery to get some refreshment at the ice cream stand and take butterfly pictures on their butterfly bushes. Nextdoor to Porters is Ogburn Landscape Supplies. Johnny has been fascinated this week watching the front loaders load mulch and rock into pick-up trucks. Mom has been using the one pile of orange tone sand for picture back-drops. The butterfly bushes are positioned just right;-) At any point, I realize I've posted 5 swallowtail shots already in 3 months, but this one seemed so different with the orange tone background and underbelly perspective that I thought I'd share it too. I'm thinking NC State Fairgrounds this AM for the flea market followed by the JC Raulstron Arboretum (which is a mile away) afterward if it's not too warm. We haven't done the flea market in a while, and I don't think I've ever taken the boys to that arboretum. It's tax free weekend in NC which means saving about 7.25% on clothes, school supplies, and computers. Kohl's was packed last night! Hoping you are having a great weekend so far and that it continues! Maryann
11-29: Friday morning we woke up to fog in Fort Collins, so I decided to go up to Horsetooth again. I took this shot of the fog spilling over the hilll towards the water. I think this picture looks better when viewed larger.
As we were driving home from dinner out last evening, the sun suddenly broke through some holes in the clouds and created this scene. I hopped out of the car and quickly captured a few shots. This is one of them. I'm glad so many of you like the shot of the two hummers. Thanks for taking the time to comment. I sure enjoyed all your shots today...lots of wonderful images.
July 29, 2009 - Texas Sage I really want a good macro lens. All this cropping to get the shot I want is not working well. Hmmmm do I starve the kids, deprive them of an education and dance classes, sell off the cars or stand on a street corner holding a sign that says "will work for glass"? LOL - J/K! ;)
1/11/10 "Edge of the World" Northern California Coastline at Dusk. The waves smooth and ethereal, the rocks looking like they were from another planet. This is a long exposure at dusk that I shot last night. I love the blue tones that come out at dusk and the smooth waves from the long exposure. April 27, 2009 Early Morning Fog...
Autumn Symphony #3...... I went out fog hunting yesterday and came home with this instead....and 124 others! The creek had trees over-hanging and every time the breeze blew, more drops would fall off the leaves and onto the water. The swampy looking bubbles are actually the water droplets, in varying stages of hitting the water's surface. The color is the foliage in the background. The original shot is very similar to this with the exception of luminance. The younger generation (my kids and all their friends) really like it. I'm kinda fond of it, too.
Northern Harrier from Bosque del Apache November 2009 A cooperative little gal that gave me an excellent show out at BDA.
