Mandarin Orange - Jan 7 2010 Tried my hand at some fruit shots today. With limited lighting options and only kitchen attributes for the setup the result isn't that great. Well at least it was fun and the models went along just fine :-)
Megan On Pointe - this is one of the shots from the photoshoot on Friday with two young ballet dancers. Thanks for the nice comments on the shot of the diner kitchen. Some time ago, I was contacted and asked to do an interview for the SmugMugCorner on PhotographyCorner. I was notified today that the interview is now live on the site. You can see it here: http://www.photographycorner.com/blog/2010/01/smugmug-corner-60-judy-horton. I was really flattered to be selected for an interview. I hope you can take a couple of minutes to check it out.

Chiang Mai has several Elephant parks. Maetaeng park offers elephant rides, elephant shows, bullock cart rides and a ride down the rive on a bamboo raft!
Was very lucky this past fall to find a man and his dog training at a pond near my home...I asked if I could watch the training session and try to photo their session together. It was wonderful to see master and dog working together and the love they showed for each other. This is one of many that came out rather nice. Hope you all have a Great Day......
November 29, 2010 - "Bridge of the Devil" This is the first of a photo series this week that were shot in the rain and fog. All the images were shot from on or adjacent to this bridge on the Serchio River in Italy. The rain drops on the river are visible in the enlarged version. "Ponte della Maddalena (Italian: "Bridge of Mary Magdalene") is a bridge crossing the Serchio river near the town of Borgo a Mozzano in the Italian province of Lucca.[1][2]. One of numerous medieval bridges known as Ponte del Diavolo, the "Bridge of the Devil", it was a vital river crossing on the Via Francigena, an early medieval road to Rome for those coming from France that was an important medieval pilgrimage route. The bridge is a remarkable example of medieval engineering, probably commissioned by the Countess Matilda of Tuscany circa 1080-1100. It was renovated circa 1300 under the direction of Castruccio Castracani. The largest span is 37.8 m. The bridge is also described in a 14th century novella by Giovanni Sercambi of Lucca. Circa 1500 it took on the name of Ponte della Maddalena, from an oratory dedicated to Mary Magdalene, whose statue stood at the foot of the bridge on the eastern bank." Warm Grass, Lake Sam Rayburn TX I love the way that a sunset can light up a foreground! This glowing grass caught my eye as I was looking for a new foreground composition that included the reflection pool. We hope to get back to the lake this weekend and maybe even today! This is a three exposure HDR. I haven’t made many HDR photos lately, but still find it to be a handy technique when I have to shoot into the sun without any filters. The only filter used here is the circular polarizer. Tuesday, February 15, 2011 "LINES AND SWIRLS" REMIX "Bright colours or dark ones, sparkling clarity or misty atmosphere, landscape, still life, portrait - I haven't met a subject, style, or mood yet that can't be portrayed beautifully in pastel." ~ Dave Beckett By date, this is my 10th pp creation! Here's a link to the original: http://www.smugmug.com/gallery/15299231_BkGGq#1188286892_VWMmf Thanks a million for your shout-outs on yesterday's Valentine's Day post; it landed and remained in the #3 spot. You all really showed me some "love!" Also, I "loved" perusing your beautiful photos! Have a "Terrific Today," everyone! ***#1 photo of the day and all time*** (original photo taken 1/23/2011 and pp 2/14/2011)
01-18-09 *edit : forgot to give a -good- title* "Little lamb, who made thee ?" I finally took the time to photograph some lambs (not so young anymore of course) this afternoon in order to get possible entries for Dgrin challenge on the theme "Hair". This one is my favorite picture for now. Let's hope it fits the theme... Still have to find a good title though. I used a single wireless strobe placed in front of his head. Hope your week end was great !
Tuesday, June 9th. Southern Magnolia.
Excelsior Geyser, which is inactive, fills a huge crater and produces some of the most prodigious overflows found. The crater measures 250 by 300 feet. The constant streaming overflow has been measured at about 4,000 gallons per minute. The overflow is discharged into the Firehole River. This picture is actually of Grand Prismatic Spring which is adjacent and which is the largest spring in the park. This photo shows the runoff channels of the spring. The brilliant colors are caused by the tiny thermophilic organisms that live in the spring. It was a beautiful afternoon when I shot this and I loved the reflections in the spring. I hope you all enjoy the shot. Thank you to everyone who commented on my shot of the bison in Yellowstone. It is really a wonderful thing to be able to post a photo and be able to share it with so many fantastic photographers. I was sure impressed with the quality of the shots on smugmug today...even better than usual, I thought. You guys keep me motivated! Hope you enjoy your day!
September 2, 2010 COMING IN FOR A LANDING! I think the hummer was saying to him/herself, "Whoa, whoa, whoa - slow down, there's danger ahead!" This shot was not the greatest quality, but it made me smile. I laughed at the hummer's position coming in for a landing. I think perhaps the hummingbird has seen the wasp on the other side of the feeder at the last minute & is trying hard to "put on the brakes" before encountering that scary little flying stinger on the other side of the feeder. The end of the story is that the hummingbird scared the wasp away and he/she got her fill at the feeder. When the hummer left, the wasp came right back immediately & parked itself on the feeder again. I hope this gives all the SmugMuggers a smile today. Thank you all for you comments on my shot of Chika in Bill's 1966 Fairlane. It sure was fun meeting she & Hiro & Papamugger. Have a wonderful evening! Linda
Nap Time! This is Allison, my neighbor’s cat. I guess she fell asleep waiting to catch some birds while they were eating at the feeders. #365Project Day 05 (2011.01.05) @sharkbayte

**Update-I should had mentioned the cat was sleeping, prior to this shot. I called it and after a couple of seconds, this is the look I got and then she stretched and came down from the tree. She was groggy in this frame.
