A Flower for Caroline - Mar 22 2010 This is one for my darling Caroline... those little imperfections make the flower not less beautiful! They make it stand out! Shot this flower on a mirror with black cloth as background. The light (daylight) comes from the right through a window. I used the smooth portrait filter from topaz on a copy of the BG layer to smoothen the reflection so the mirror effect wasn't so obvious. Finally I erased the top of that layer so the flower becomes the original one again. Have a nice start of the week!
Finger Friend - Jan 25 2011 If you're patient and persistent you can even have Ladybug as pets :-)
It takes two to tango - May 25 2010 Two tiny garden (weed) flowers... placed on a mirror which reflects a dark BG. The sun lits them perfectly... The sun was not merciful at all yesterday... the promised clouds were delayed :-(
Magic Dunes - Oct 22 2009 The magic begins... but it only lasts a moment!
Twiggy - Jul 16 2009 While her masters are on vacation Twiggy is staying with us... and here she looks a bit homesick... but she's not feeling homesick at all but enjoying an old bone! She loves to play with our dogs, guess she never had 19 'friends' to play with before. I 'borrowed' this shot from Caroline since I didn't had time today...
Goodnight sun - Mar 11 2009 Think I have thing wit sunsets... had a terrible busy day and came to terms with the fact that the archives would provide my DP again. But at about 1 km from home I saw this... took quickly 5 shots and could forget about turning to the archives. Gonna look at some of your great shots and then of to bed...
Heaven must be missing an angel - Jan 21 2009 Because I have her here with me! Where there's a dark side... there's a bright side, she is by far the better part of me!

SNAKE RETURNS April , 2012 - Oh well - The community suffers on at the whim of a PIG Snake. Your life must really be miserable.. void of decent thought or action and... you are certainly a crappy photographer to boot.. Well, here goes the snake again.. My most popular image - sad but true. Updated and 'unhidden' again 4-23, 2012 - as the Snake thumbed down a New Orleans image this very morning.. HB _____________________________________ _____________________________________ To my Honest to Goodness SMUGMUG Daily Community family of Photographers: Sadly, we need to keep this ugly thing in my Daily Galleries. Because - we continue to be plagued from time to time by the Snake who has not an inkling of decency and further, must be so dissatisfied with his/her own sorry excuse for photography that he/she resorts to thumbing down others' Daily Posts - over and again, while perhaps (we can't confirm this) thumbing up his/her own posts to push them higher in the daily rankings.. This is sad commentary, but the above image is so popular with comment that it is in the ALL TIME TOP 1000 images on SmugMug.. So we'll just keep it here in my Daily Gallery - and any day we see Snake activity, come get it and thumb it up - putting it back in the Daily mix. It's called "AWARENESS." If I find it's been Thumbed Down and has fallen off, I'll put it back again! Hey Thumbs Down SNAKE!!! We see you are out of your HOLE thumbing down our shared Daily Photo's this fine Day.. Well this one's for YOU!! Your antic's will come to an end.. We will dig you out... Finally - To my Fellow SmugMuggers.. : Awareness. Awareness everyone.. Thanks for your support! HB
Thanks for all the comments on the church picture. It has been very popular.
Left behind - Jan 02 2009 Found this one while walking Fender this morning... It was in a little corner of a corn field that has been harvested some months ago. What was left unharvested has been eaten by the birds except this one. The moment I saw it I was thinking selective color. Thanks for the remarks regarding my wife. It's better, although still very painful. Because it was a big dog (pyrenean mountain dog) it's mostly the bruises caused by the force of the jaws whom are painful.
October 28th PRIZE WINNING WOOD DUCK Entry was at the Wood Duck Festival in our local park system and took third place!! Here is the link to the finished image and ribbon: http://mom4squirrels.smugmug.com/gallery/2398293_NM4ud/1/404800201_LXrB5#404799695_GMDAX
September 25, 2013 This lovely meadow was along our drive from Moab, Utah to Ouray, Colorado. It was not too far from from Montrose, Colorado if I recall correctly. This is a 5 shot HDR merge. The sky was threatening rain, and within minutes of taking these shots, it did begin to rain. What beautiful country we saw on the trip. If you have time, check this out in X-large. Thank you all for your kind comments. Critiques are welcome. "It is the mind which creates the world around us, and even though we stand side by side in the same meadow, my eyes will never see what is beheld by yours, my heart will never stir to the emotions with which yours is touched." ~ George Gissing Have a beautiful day my friends! Linda Late added comment: yes I'm still in Birmingham and my work day just ended about 30 minutes ago (10:00 PM) after arising at 5:00 am for the start of my day, so I'm late in making and reading comments. Please see Dreamcatcher's s comments - I had no idea this was Ralph Lauren's ranch. Way cool!!!

A Flower for Caroline - Mar 22 2010

This is one for my darling Caroline... those little imperfections make the flower not less beautiful!
