same place where I did the sun shot . I had to do them with the moon :)

I just ADORED this place! When I saw this, my first thought was, "This is an enchanted glen." I snapped the shot and I was in love with it. And yes, this place really WAS that green! Amazing for Utah, let me tell you. I could just sit here and enjoy this spot for hours.

PLEASE HELP!
Okay, I really REALLY hesitate to do this, but I'm going to tear a small page out of dedmanshootn's book. I don't like to, because this seems a little self-serving of me, but things have gotten way out of hand and I'm anxious for it to stop.

For the last month-and-a-half, someone's been brutally attacking my website. Whole pages of my Most Populars will disappear in one fell swoop, I've been fielding hundreds of spam notes (which is why I had to put up the "Comment Approval" option even though I hated doing so), and I've even been fielding phone calls from telemarketers because whoever this is has put my number on call lists. This person has even put spam notes in galleries of some of the people who have made comments on my photos recently. He/she seems to be tarketing in particular my top few photos.

I don't like to do this, but I am asking you to please help me combat this in any way you can. I think this is a despicable practice; it is senseless, petty, and immature, not to mention very, very wrong. I wouldn't even ask this -- in fact, I've been trying to deal with this quietly for nearly two months now -- but I am truly at the end of my rope here. This just shouldn't be allowed to continue. For ANYONE. In fact, if anyone else has been having any issues like this, I would LOVE to know, so I can help out with you as well, and so I can give the smugmug powers-that-be some of that information also, since I'm trying to work through them a little bit to explore my options.

Anyway, if you're uncomfortable with this request at all, please don't worry about it, I do understand. It's awful to ask. But if any of you could feel comfortable commenting on a few of my top photos, just so we can show this guy that this is NOT appropriate, I would appreciate it. And let me know if there is anything I can do for you as well, I'm always happy to reciprocate.

this was actually shot at the same time as yesterday's dp but i liked it so well and was so down with allergies i decided to 'cheat'. i'll probably be able to post something but won't be commenting much if at all this weekend. i'm going down to shoot at the greenwood car show saturday, if you're in the greater seattle area its an event well worth making time and effort to take in - see info at the link below, and visiting my sis, b-i-l and DOD and his wife (and hopefully some extended fam and friends). hope everyone has a great weekend and some wonderful things to photograph.

DailyPhotos > popular all-time > self-portrait in front of the fireplace, fairhaven library
06/06/08

one of the reasons, besides the wonderful staff, that the fairhaven library is one of my favorite places to go in town. i manually preset the focus on the chair then set the camera on my bag on a table and shot with available light - which is why the light is two colors as there's lovely long windows behind me. for those of you who liked the dark colors of yesterdays dp i reshot more of the whole bed which you can see - and there's pics from inside, including a bigger view of the area in this shot, (and ouside) the library too - http://dedmanshootn.smugmug.com/gallery/4855371_JgWrE#308101796_y8W58

Highway to Heaven...

Well at least it seems that way. This is the new bridge over from Fort Myers to Sanibel Island. Truly one of the best places on earth to me...so far. They use to have draw bridge but it was deteriorating and they just finished this new bridge not to long ago. It is so tall so they don't have to stop traffic to raise it for in coming boats. You literally feel like you are going to drive off the edge.

Not the best picture because I was driving and trying to take a quick picture but I thought this would be a good finish to all my Florida shots. Thanks for being so patient while I posted them.

Bridge A (the bridge adjacent to the mainland) will be a 70-foot vertical clearance fixed span bridge. The new bridge typical section includes two 12-foot (ft.) travel lanes, two 8 ft. shoulders, open rails, and no sidewalks. The overall width of the bridge is 43 ft. An alignment 10 ft. east of the existing bridge was selected. The fixed span bridge gives 70 feet of navigational clearance and eliminates the need for scheduled openings, it also allows for free flow of automobile and boat traffic.

DailyPhotos > popular all-time > Mar. 18, 2008 (Day 52) Nefarious: wicked in the extreme Something a little less stylized today...Since I already did a scary/evil SP this week, I decided to use my own idea of "wicked," which involves a little more playfulness and mystery.Trying out a few new processing tricks. I wanted to go for a more realistic image for once. Less artsy. Sort of to prove--to myself and to y'all--that I could do it (I feel sometimes I cross that fine PS line of "art" vs. "trying to hide the mistakes").I like how it turned out. I'll have to add these new tricks to my repertoire!

DailyPhotos > popular all-time > honeybee on blue
06/23/08

don't know what this bush and flower are but i sure like them. apparently the insects do too. i saw at least five different types counting this gal. i've been hearing that the bees are dying/disappearing and i can believe it as this is the first honeybee i've seen this year tho i've seen many types of wasp and bumbles. i thought it cool how bright yellow and bulging the pollen she's carrying is. i don't have macro and was too lazy to carry my tripod, even tho i got a fine new shoulder case for it from my fam, so this is just my 18-55mm zoom hand-held. you who know flowers and plants, who have time and inclination, do you know what this is
