FEB.9,2012 The Shadow challenge for Paula! It's an early post due to my work schedule. I've been working on these captures all week and I love some of neighborhood homes with tree shadows on them , but my "red" always wins out for me.
March 29, 2011 A Hunk of American Steel and loads of chrome on this beauty. This is a 1958 Buick Super and a fantastic car, totally gorgeous. It's an example of the iconic American cars of the 1950's. It's one of my favorites that I see often - it belongs to our friend Ted who is in our same car club. This shot is from Saturday's car show - hope you enjoy. And.......... here's an extreme PP of this shot here: http://lgood.smugmug.com/Cars/Classic-Cars/12442807_L6QVo#1230532693_N8wot Hope you enjoy!!!!! Let me know which version you like best. thanks a million for all your great comments!!!!!!!!!!! Linda Late edit June, 2012 - Mr. Ted Phelps who owned this car passed away this week. He was a wonderful man, he loved his Buick and he and this lovely car won lots of awards all over the U.S.A. RIP Ted.
Storm on the California Coast line
9 Jun 2009 A train from the past :-) Spotted this near Denver International Airport, and the sun forced me to pull over my car to get a shot of this.
07/10/10 - Not Your Purple Coneflower This is one of the 'special' varieties of Coneflower that The Garden Hut had when I visited on Thursday. Shorter stem and shorter petals and what a cool orange/yellow color. I'm not sure what the other flower was behind them, but I liked the color that flower added to the shot. Thank you very much for the comments on my flower shot from yesterday... It's cloudy here today big time, and even though there was rain near me last night, just a drop at my house. HAGD, Maryann
It's still hot, and I didn't shoot anything today, so this is another shot from the archives. And in an ultimate showing of laziness, I'm pulling it straight from one of my first galleries uploaded to Smugmug. One more day until I'll have lots of new festival and river photos to choose from.
A 250 year old house of a sea captain. The two dogs in the window have a special meaning: When they were looking out of the window the husband were at sea, when looking into the house he was at home and her special friends should stay away.
Morning at Maa Farm 24 May 2010 Shot at Maa Farm where we stay while in Ranthambhore. Best seen in XLarge size. www.javeri.net
Maggie can fly! My daughter teaches ballet and gives pilates classes at her own studio in Denver, which is co-located with the Denver Dance Center. A few weeks ago, the center which has only been in existence for a bit over a year, had its first performance. Maggie is an young adult who still loves to dance and can, obviously, still perform. Flash was not allowed during the performance and I sat way over on one side, but I managed to catch this shot of her during one of her leaps. Thanks so much for the comments on my latest Grand Canyon shot. I'm still processing those shots. I think I have about eight folders of shots and I've processed only about one and a half. I'm really enjoying it and it is making me think I want to go back to the Grand Canyon and spend more time there. So many places, so little time... Have a grand weekend and Halloween!
Morning sunrise in the fog going 70 mph on our way home.
September 27, 2009 SHE MADE IT!!!! Proud Mom moment here. Yesterday Emily went to the call-back auditions for the Moscow Ballets Nutcracker. They were calling the girls back in twos to dance again in front of the Russian instructor. There were a few girls she had remembered enough that they did not have to audition again. Emily was one of them. She has a part dancing in The Coffee Dance (arabian). There will be 5 performances the weekend of November 20th, 21st and 22nd at the Majestic Theater in Dallas. I am so proud of her. She starts rehearsals next Saturday
180 24th Oct Petronas Towers Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Shot hand held with D200 & 18-70mm. No PP. The Petronas Twin Towers (also known as the Petronas Towers or Twin Towers), in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia were the world's tallest buildings, before being surpassed by the Taipei 101. However, the towers are still the tallest twin buildings and office building in the world. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petronas_Twin_Towers www.javeri.net
March 10, 2011 Up close & personal with a real classic beauty. I'm sorry I didn't get the details on this lovely car, but I was too enthralled with it to snap a photo of the tag. I really loved the colors and the reflections in the front fenders were amazing. One of my all time favorites, and that's high praise for as many classic cars as I've seen. Hope you all enjoy, and that this beauty brings you a happy smile today. Thanks to everyone for your very kind comments on my photos over the last few days. I'm still on the road, and working hard. I've not been able to comment as much as I'd like to and enjoy all of your wonderful photos, but the plan is to get caught up this weekend. Have a good one! Linda
