October 10, 2013 Red Mountain - as seen along one of the trails we were riding in Colorado. According to Wikipedia: Red Mountain is a set of three peaks in the San Juan Mountains of western Colorado in the United States, about 5 miles south of Ouray. The mountains get their name from the reddish iron ore rocks that cover the surface. Several other peaks in the San Juan Mountains likewise have prominent reddish coloration from iron ore and are also called "Red Mountain". Nearby Red Mountain Pass is named after Red Mountain, and the ghost town mining camp of Red Mountain Town is located at the foot of the Red Mountains. Have a "red-letter day today my friends." January 21 - Moody Journey This is perhaps one of the best skies I have had a chance to photograph. The sky was full of clouds and the sun was shining bright. Over the year I plan to try out different photography techniques. This is another HDR experiment. I'm not sure if I really like HDR or not. What are you thoughts on HDR? Good and bad welcome.
August 23, 2011 hi everyone! Thanks for all of the great comments. We are loving the weather and low daily highs of around 80 degrees in New Mexico. The vacation is going great. Many times we are in areas with no cell coverage - which is ok, except that I also don't have the use of my iPad to comment with. So forgive me for the sparse comments. This is a shot of the floor of the Texas State capital building in Austin, Texas. It was taken a couple of months ago but I really liked how it was a little off kilter. Check it out in X2 - I think you'll enjoy the details. Linda (http://lgood.smugmug.com)
August 2, 2009 Noogies.......Traverse City, Michigan - A good time was had by all. This started as a sweet little shot of my daughter Jill, and 3 of her boys giving me a silhouette in the sunset and ended with, lets give Mommy a noogie.
Another shot today of the Canna blooms that are still unfurled. They have such great color it's hard not to frequently shoot & post lots of Canna photos. No PP on this - just great evening light. Thanks to everyone for their wonderful comments on my photos. HAGD - Linda.
You know I had to let you see both of them!! They are just the cutest and sweetest little babies!! Both have a full tummy and are tucked in for the night. Thanks so much for all the comments on the one baby...Unfortunetly I have alot going on right now,so I may be letting my friend take care of this pair. I haven't decided yet. Hope all the Moms had a great day!!

Beach #8. This time I avoided to include the sun in the picture as I wanted to concentrate attention to all the colors in the sky. The subject for the series is "Beach, Sea and Sky". The sky, however, have been dominating as I was astonished how it changed during the day, and from day to day depending air pressure, humidity and wind. Thanks so much for your comments on yesterday's picture
"The Boy in the Bubble" - song by Paul Simon. This is the redone version of this. I took a new photo of a bubble and, instead of cutting out the bubble and putting it on a different background, this time I kept the bubble and the background intact. All I did was add the boy. If you look at it in the largest sizes, you'll see the reflections in the bubble now reflect the actual setting in which it was taken --- although you'll see the pine trees in my garden, which do not actually show in the background itself. You can also see that there are reflections both in front of and behind the boy. Having done all that, I'm not sure this is really that great an image. The boy does not pop out at you. You have to look carefully for him. However, I think this may be about as good a job as I can do on this idea. I'd appreciate your thoughts regarding whether I should enter this or the great balls of fire shot that I posted on the dailies two days ago. Thanks, as always, for your comments, which I value a lot. I did learn quite a bit doing this little project and that, of course, is never wasted effort. Have a great day everyone! My hubby and I are going up to Denver to help our daughter put up drywall in her new ballet studio.
December 6, 2010 Hello everyone - I didn't expect to be posting tonight, or this week at all because I was scheduled to be in Northern California all week; however, due to an unforeseen event, the trip was cancelled and so I am home this week, and the NoCal trip will be rescheduled sometime next year. I'm home and happy!!!!!!!!!!!! It's nice to be home after all my travels over the last several weeks. Road warriers need to restore the batteries at home some, and that's what I'm doing!!!! YAY! This is a custom car and I don't know what it started life as, but it was a real beauty. The rainbow colored paint was amazing. As you walked around the car it would change in color from black to dark midnight blue then to medium blue and then almost a tourquoise color, then it would shift again to a light maroon and a red. There were several other color changes in between too. It's hard to describe all the color variations. It was at a car show and as you can see it was sprinkling rain and I felt sorry for the owners who were trying to keep their cars wiped down and dry. I liked the rain drops on the car and the reflection of the other car beside it. The beauty of the colors are best viewed in X3 Have a great evening Smugmuggers. Linda
