February 14, 2011 "Helping hand" - this little one was trapped in our shed flying straight up to the ceiling until it was exhausted. We picked it up and gave it nourishment and away it flew. It was one of those moments in life that made you feel great all over! Thanks for all of the wonderful comments! Life continued on for this little one and we were grateful to be a part of his recovery.
February 2, 2011-Ninja Cat. Allison has started sitting on this tree limb (when she isn't sleeping) to get a better vantage point for catching birds. Day 33 @sharkbayte Thanks for all the comments on my picture and well wishes at the doctors. I'll be back to the doctors next week again for more tests. Oh the fun never ends! LOL!
Colorful Big Red, Columbia MO Got out to take some new photos today and this was the best one. Big Red loves our photo walks since he gets to do his own thing off the leash. But at some point I always sit down and wait for him to come around and pose for me. John A. Stewart park is still full of color, even if most of it is on the ground. Update: This photo was taken with the Canon EF 50mm f/1.4. It's the first lens I bought for my camera and I really like it , I use it a lot, and it's not too expensive. Hello Everybody, you all have been very kind to me recently with your comments and I can't thank you enough. I've spent the last couple of days in NY State and took this image in the Allegheny State Park, Red house lake. Allegany State Park is a state park in western New York State, located in Cattaraugus County just north of Allegheny National Forest in Pennsylvania. The park is divided into two sections: The Red House Area and the Quaker Run Area. It lies within the Allegheny Highlands forests ecoregion.
Hanging in the wind - Aug 25 2010 Sorry, another bug shot... missed shooting macro so much that I dusted off the old Nikkor 80mm lens and took of direction bugs. It's a nice lens, but it's a full manual lens... with ever changing light... hard and unexpected winds... a real 'pleasure' to take bug shots. Darn did I miss that 60mm full auto lens :-) But I really like this shot because of the colors. This damselfly had a hard time hanging on... on the bright side I had all the time to take shots, it wasn't going anywhere... but the wind and the clouds ruined 98 of the 100 shots I took of it ;-)
I'm just a little girl... - Mar 14 2009 I'm a bit into sepia I guess... but I think the shot is far more interesting like this. Fender did well yesterday evening, so we can start doing trials! Yes!!
Frozen by Padonna - Jan 10 2009 While shooting all kinds of frozen things (there's not much more to shoot now) this back lit spider web was screaming for attention. Natures simplicity can be so beautiful...
Sunset at Ogy - Jan 09 2009 Again a day of fog and frost... add a lovely sun and a clear blue sky and you have a wonderful opportunity to take gorgeous shots. So after work I shot 250 pictures and I must say, it was real hard to choose the DP! Went finally for the sunset because of the cool reflection on the ice. Have a nice weekend!!
Hokami, border collie - Nov 2 2008 Beautiful sunny day, perfect for a walk in the woods. I have tried to avoid placing dog pictures here... but i like this picture too much (and I want to please my darling wife). This is Hokami one of our border collies and a little bit the favorite of my wife :-)

24OCT2012 Fall Jay Image awarded Honorable Mention in the "Nature Category" n4c.us in January 2013, submitted through the Omaha Camera Club. Have a great day!
Glamor Girls - Mar 17 2009 So reluctant the girl from yesterday was... so eager these girls were to get their picture taken. They were making dance moves in the street and when they saw me shooting pictures of them... they wanted to pose.

Victoria Memorial Sunrise, Kolkata India I found this photo when I was going through my Victoria Memorial photos for an upcoming blog post on my adventure photographing it. I have shared a few HDR photos of Victoria Memorial in the past, but this is the first single exposure I have shared. You can see a similar HDR version of this photo here: http://smu.gs/AsXi97 WHAT DO YOU THINK? WHICH DO YOU PREFER? (I don't think this will be much of a contest ;) I'm amazed at how quickly my processing techniques evolve. I always think my most newly processed photos look the best, and any time I re-process something I usually like the new version better than the old. In some ways processing is similar to writing, and the first version you make is just a first draft, which gets better and better with each revision. CAN YOU SPOT THE SUN IN THIS SUNRISE?
