DailyPhotos > popular all-time > bnsf engines pulling freight 06/03/08 the main railroad between the ports of seattle, wa, usa and vancouver, bc, canada runs through bellingham. my apartment is about 3-4 blocks from it so i hear them when they go through, a sound i love. some days we get two or three and other days we get over a dozen. the rails run right along the water for quite a long time and its a very pretty trip tho only one passenger train a day runs between the two cities any more and there's talk of phasing it out. my mum used to take me on the train to visit her parents when i was preschool and we lived in seattle (they lived in vancouver). i really like to travel by train and will miss it when it gets phased out, as i've no doubt it will

DailyPhotos > popular all-time > "Those Eyes" details best seen @ size X3 While walking through my kids TV room last night I noticed a great beam of natural sunlight coming through the front window as the sun was going down and then saw my daughter Alexa's eyes catching the light as well. So I made her get off the couch (I know I'm a terrible Dad LOL) and had her stare out of the window. I should have went to get my 50mm Nikkor or 90mm Tamron for this Portrait to get a sharper image but I was lazy and stuck with the 18-200 VR that was on the body but I think it did a fine job, impressed me really. When seen as large as possible you can see each individual eye lash reflected on her retna, pretty cool! I then hit this with my normal Portraiture work flow & slight glamour treatment, removed a bunch of small hairs in between the nose, shaped her brows and did some very minor burning to bring out her cheek bone a little bit and that's it. The shadow is all natural just using proper exposure settings and shooting tight to prevent any of the background in the room from showing. Alexa's eyes are usually a nice blue but she was wearing a purple shirt which turns them a wild greenish aqua blue seen here. She's my favorite model and loves to have her photo taken so we both make out on the deal whenever I want to do a portrait to keep my skills sharp ;) I like this one so much I'll be ordering it in a large format lustre print or possibly a canvas to hang on my office wall! ~I just love my kids ~ Hope you all like it, Have a Great Day everyone ! ~Bill~

DailyPhotos > popular all-time > 8.8.08 - Monster Rising Beijing might have had a very spectacular Olympic opening ceremony, but we had this :) This actually developed into a very spectacular sunset later, but I've got lots of nice sunsets already, and not many of them include an alien monster rising below a halo of ice crystals in the stratosphere! So now it is all clear. DailyPhotos > popular all-time > June 29, 2008 Morning catch. Thanks for all your prayers, they seem to be working because my mom seemed a little better yesterday. She smiled allot although I think she's very scared. I got up early yesterday before visiting hours so I could shoot a little. It is certainly a good release. Or after hours I see if anything is out and about. The nurses have been so super to her. When I can't visit with her because of visiting hours I'll call and talk to the nurses to check on her. They are so good about going and telling her everything. She is in a sort of icu. They call it a step down. ps. I told her how everyone is praying for her and she had tears in her eyes. They are having a hard time with her bp right now so keep your fingers crossed.
