DailyPhotos > popular today > Yellow spidie on the petal of a sunflower. This guy was small, the only reason I seen him was he had crawled in the center on the dark part. Then I brought him in the house and placed him on a very small sunflower to take his picture, Yuck, I don't like spiders but he was different looking.

Robin and I got into Reno about 10PM last night with Jen, B, & Bri. Robin and I got to bed right away, the kids, of course, stayed up later. We got up at 4AM, checked out and headed to Rancho San Rafael Park for the balloon races. We arrived in time for the glow show, very cool. Next was the "Dawn Patrol", but I think the best part was the mass ascension! There were 100 balloons there and they all began inflating and taking to the sky at about 7AM. The crowd was allowed to walk in and among the balloons as they were preparing and it was pretty cool! James and Doreen were in Reno and we had hoped to run into them but we missed each other.

We took way too many photos and posted the best of them in this separate gallery for those interested. It was hard picking one for my daily photo and I finally settled on this one. After the balloons drifted away we ran to Denny's for breakfast and then headed home for a nice long nap. After the nap I got a call from an old friend and we spoke on the phone for quite some time, we made plans to get together and I look forward to it.

Dinner was "fend for yourself", Jen stayed, it was really nice having her around, we miss her lots. Well, we all had a great time and look forward to going again next year.

Until tomorrow,

Darron

i went for a different perspective this time and had to use the flash as it was quite a grey day. the cool grey bug was an unexpected bonus. i still can't find my one saved sensor cleaning wand but stopped by 'quicksilver' (if you're in bellingham and need anything photographic they're THE place to go as far as i'm concerned , http://quicksilverphotolab.com/ ) and jeff kindly blew the dust that would come off out for me. i still need to give it a proper cleaning but at least its much better than it was. BIG THANK YOU JEFF!
DailyPhotos > popular today > Mr Bee.

I have lots of these little fellows in my yard. They seem to love these wild yellow flowers. I don't know what the name of these are, but they attract bees like crazy.

You can see more bee shots in this gallery:http://womanwithacamera.smugmug.com/gallery/5661425_jqX8V#367376268_s2U6P

Miss Petunia playing with paper towels. Taken on Thursday, the day before John, Brenda, and Kara adopted her.

You may see more of both her and Marco Polo from me in the coming week or so. Want to share the last pictures I took of them before they went to their new home.

Thank you for all the wonderful comments on yesterday's "dancing" picture. A big thank you for the virtual hugs, too, which I took to heart.

This sunflower came in a bouquet from the grocery store. I didn't change the color - this is what it looks like. I know they dyed the stem, because it rubbed off on Ann's hand, but I'm not sure how they did the petals. Regardless, it's pretty! Ann held the flower up in the air while I took the shot so I could get the blue sky as a background.

Sassoon Docks

It's a BUSY place and so colorful you don't know what NOT to shoot! This was evening time when people are busy preparing to sail next day. Morning is when they return with the catch and is another sight all together.

No PP except for a bit of a crop and light adjustment.

The Sassoon Docks is one of the few docks open to the public in Mumbai, India. It was built by David Sassoon, a Baghdadi Jew. The docks is the main fish loading and trading centre in South Mumbai.

Well, it's that time of year again...wait- What am I saying? Why are we playing baseball again? I don't really know...But it was fun...

This shot chosen purely on the expression...I liked it-

And on a side note, I really wish they'd quit parking cars in right and center field...It really wasn't a photo-friendly ballpark today...
