(Dec. 3, 2009) We got a bird bath last weekend and it's already a big hit, both for the water and the view.

This was one of our favorite things we did. On Isla Roatan, you could take this excursion which included playing with the monkeys. These white-faced monkeys were loose and free for the most part, and you strode into the sanctuary and they pounced on you and climbed all over you, stole your glasses, looked through your pockets, looked for goodies in your hair...it was hilarious! I just couldn't help snapping away at these guys and I got some fun shots. This was my favorite of the bunch. If any of you ever get a chance to do this DON'T PASS IT UP! It was totally worth it, the experience was a blast. Almost as much fun as getting kissed by the dolphin. :-)

My link today is a new artist for me. I saw this shot yesterday and loved it.

DailyPhotos > popular today > December 4, 2009 - "Underwater Beauty"

This was shot off the coast of Galveston last month.

If you think I was actually shooting underwater, it's time for the real story. The photo was taken at Murdoch's Souvenir shop that is located on piers over the ocean, i.e.; off the coast. They have many beautifully organised bins of ocean items for sale. A little combining of items from the bins with a touch of blue tint results in my attempt at simulating an underwater photo:) The starfish was placed on a sponge.

A side note - discovered http://www.tineye.com/ yesterday - TinEye is a reverse image search engine that allows you to search for your images on the web.

DailyPhotos > popular today > 12/4/09 - Mr. Grinch
This inflatable is a fixture at our house each Christmas. Unlike the other inflatables which are out near the road, he greets you as you come down the driveway. He showed up a few Christmas' ago, and the boys just love him as well as the other kids that stop by. We've got the book, several variations on the book, the DVD, and several other stuffed versions of him... He looks nicely converted to the Christmas spirit in this version dontcha think?!? :-)

In my quest to continue to build Christmas cards I don't need and to bring you a POTD that you'll enjoy, I created this last night. I pulled the Grinch out of one picture and Max the dog out of another and built this on just a black background. I had to spend a lot of time of Grinch's face fixing it up because of where the lightbulb sits and how it blew out his right eye.

You can see the full inflatable here:

I took pictures of the rest of our outside decorations too.

Next up...maybe a picture of my snowglobe collection or to feature on of the snowglobes. We'll see.

At first Max wasn't in the shot, but then there was just too much real estate on the right.

Thank you all so much for your wonderful comments on yesterday's ornament shot. They inspire me to continue to come up with even better ideas and to take even better pictures. There are a lot of great pictures on the dailies ever day, and I continue to enjoy looking at and commenting on your pictures too. You all are a great bunch of folks.

But, now, if I don't stop spending all my time in PSE, the real Christmas cards aren't going to get in the mail before 2010! Or, I'm going to have to call in reinforcements to help.

The real Christmas card:
