If you need a POTD, try the Wal-Mart garden center:-) The boys and I went to WM yesterday to see Santa. The last several times we've gone, I've taken a few quick and hopefully unnoticed pictures in the garden center. The orchids, pointsettias, and lilies are just gorgeous right now. The door greeter was kind enough to look the other way, not notice, or not care:-) In my WM, these are in the heated but outside area vs. inside the real store. Anyway, I thought this one turned out pretty. I like how this photo contains the head on and side view in the same picture.

At home, my orchids are starting to make new blooms after I brought them in from outside. In a month or two, I'll have pictures from them again.

Elfie has been moved. I'm sure Joey will be up and searching for him soon:-)

Thank you for all your well wishes. I do feel better, but I have a lousy cough and my voice completely left me yesterday. We'll see how far I get talking today.

I am excited. I am going at noon to meet a customer at the coffee shop and complete a sale:-) Thankfully, I have a picture to swap out the one he wants to purchase ready to go! This is the one being purchased:

i shot this at thanksgiving dinner. she's hard to get to agree to a pic and even harder to get to relax a bit for one. i'll probably have to do penance for saying that but... i'm a 'damn the torpedos' kinda guy i guess. i was asked by a couple people aobut the grill next to the window in yesterday's pic. i live in a building built nearing nintyu years ago. my apartment has the same thing, which i've tried several shots of for a daily but haven't gotten anything i want from it yet. anyway for y'all other than the real old-timers out there who probably remember, my late DOD did, what it is its a fruit and vegetable 'crisper'. it goes trhough the wall to the outside air and has a couple shelves and a door on the inside. my apartment still has the fittings for an actual ice box under the counter too. my apartment and building are as funky as i am, though i'm not quite so aged ;-) . black friday took a bit more out of me than i thought, though i'm quite glad i did it, so i didn't get to spend as much time smuggin as i'd planned. sure did enjoy what i did get to see. its been said a lot but i don't think can ever be said too much. its a pleasure participating in the dailies, and smug in general, with such a fine group of photogs and people. bless you all

Thanks for all the comments on yesterdays post. This was photographed 8 minutes before yesterdays B-17 image. A few other shots from the museum are at

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt, also known as the "Jug," was the biggest, heaviest, and most expensive fighter aircraft in history to be powered by a single reciprocating engine. It was one of the main United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) fighters of World War II, and also served with other Allied air forces. The P-47 was effective in air combat but proved especially adept at ground attack. It had eight .50-caliber machine guns, four per wing. When fully loaded the P-47 could weigh up to eight tons. A modern-day counterpart in that role, the A-10 Thunderbolt II, takes its name from the P-47.
