I apologize for this post- I took this photo a few days ago but was unable to get a new shot today. It rained all afternoon and when I got home, I immediately tried to resolve a problem with my router (neither my husband nor I can get online via our wireless router). Apparently, the company that manufacture the routers (Netgear), doesn't care if their product works. I called their customer support who notified me that since I purchased it a little over the 3 month "telephone support" warrenty, I would have to pay $69.99 for a one month subscription for technical support. Seriously?? I bought it around 4 months ago, now it's not working and I need to pay more money?? I'm going to restrain myself and quote my mom by saying "I'm mad as a wet hen!!". Needless to say, I will be returning this piece of junk of a router to Best Buy who will no doubt charge me a restocking fee to take it back. AWESOME!!!! Please pass the advil...

Another trip to the greenhouse for my daily photo. This was a fairly bland looking shot before much tweaking in Lightroom and Photoshop, but I rather like the end result.

A good view of what's just below the surface (and sometimes on the surface, as well) in Virginia's Blue Ridge mountains.

I took this photo yesterday, but it did not turn out as I wanted. I like the "mood" of it, but I will try again to capture these lights better...

Critterkid and Keira take a break from sledding to pose for a quick holiday portrait. Of course, we haven't had any real snow yet.

72d Street IRT subway station original entrance at the intersection of Broadway and Amsterdam Avenues. I always liked this design. It's a registered historic place. It's unusual in that it's located on a traffic island. They built a similar one across the street a few years ago to add more stairs/exits. And yes, it was difficult getting a shot without cars or too many people blocking the view.

DailyPhotos > popular today > Tide going out and the sun going down at Damon Point in Scituate. Eventually, this little boat was just sitting atop the sand flat, waiting for the tide to come in again. Very pretty place to spend some time. Lots of shore birds to watch as well.
I loaded the wrong image! This is the one that I had blurred, as a first step to painting it. Bummer. You get the idea, though. I'll be putting the "painting" of this in that gallery sometime today. I have to finish it first.
