White-Crowned Sparrow - singing a little song near Olympia, Wa. I really appreciate the comments!
May 30, 2015 This is granddaughter Eleanor enjoying ice cream at a local fast food place. You can see that she's in hog heaven. I loved the innocent joy on her face. Eleanor is our next to the youngest grandchild, she will be 4 on June 17th. Her cousin Kaylin (who you all have seen photos of) is the youngest of the grands and she will be 4 on July 20th. "Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings." ~ William Arthur Ward Thank you for your comments & critiques! Have a joyful day! Linda http://www.lgood.smugmug.com

5/30/15 - Thunderbirds during their performance at the US Air Force Academy graduation ceremonies. Thanks for your comments on my shot of the girouette for the lexicon challenge. I loved all your entries for the challenge. This one has been so much fun and such a great learning experience. I am awed by your vocabularies.

05.30.15 In the stockade. I have some fun props for doing photo booths. Some of the students tried to get as many hats and things in their photo as possible. This kid has on a red velvet hat that I made, a red tiara, the conical princess hat and a mask. I was suppose to have a parent helper to do crowd control, but she left after 20-minutes. I did have a teacher getting the kids into and out of the stockade, but we were both focused on our part of this. Sadly, the kids got rough with my things. If I do this again with a large group of kids, I will tell the adults that I will pack up and leave if there is not an adult to watch over the props. The props are fairly tough, but they won't survive being thrown on the ground and fought over.
Who is watching whom? This is a European Ground Squirrel. They burrow in fields and especially in sandy hillsides (like vineyards, for example). This looks like an old guy who doesn't get upset to see humans - just bored.
The transformation of our lot at the lake begins.... It's been a crazy couple of weeks, running back and forth to the lake and working like crazy while we are there. I'm finally home for a few days and will share our progress so far. This was the beginning of the first stage. The draught was there for 2 days, and by the time he was done, the transformation was amazing. 05.30.15

05-30-2015 "State Champions" My grandson, Hughes, and his team won the state championship for their age level. The boys were very excited as you can see from the photo on top. Finally. we got them calmed down and made the real photo. Hughes is the one on the ground in the top photo. Boys will be boys. There were certainly some wonderful lexicons yesterday. I've enjoyed learning new words and seeing your photos to accompany the words. Thank you so much for commenting on my photos. Donna
