March 6, 2015 This is a photo of a small Lake near Glen Rose, Texas. We stumbled across it while we were on one of our roaming, no-destination road trips. I really liked the reflections of the tree stumps on the lake & the hazy sky. Thank you for your comments and critiques! Have a great day friends! Linda http://lgood.smugmug.com

3/6/15 - New version of the old Coca-Cola bottles! Even though it is a different color, it still evokes the same nostalgic feelings. Thanks for the comments on my shot of the bottles and glasses at the bar!

Sanderling - we enjoyed watching this guy/gal spin around and walk backwards looking for food in the water. Seemed oblivious to us.Taken on Maui. I really appreciate the comments!
Waiting, always waiting This grey heron always perches on the highest limb of the rookery. Seen in Vienna's 21st district.
June 27... My little brother joined the party, but I think he got too much to drink
June 24... This is an exact replica of a Viking ship," The Sea Stallion", built with the same materials and tools as the original, which was built in the year 1042. It is 29 meters long. July 1st 2007 65 "Vikings" were onboard again and sailed north of Scotland and the Orkney Islands and on August 15 it reached Dublin, Ireland. The reception in Dublin was considerable warmer than it was year 1042 when it was there. After huge quantities of Irish beer it set off for home. This time south of England. The route was planned considering prevailing wind-conditions.
October 18, 2012 Buffalos up close and personal. Linda
October 19, 2012 This photo reminds me of the old saying, "Let sleeping dogs lie." Indeed that seemed appropriate as I spied & got up close to this sleeping buffalo near the buildings at Morman Row, Wyoming. Thanks so much for your comments yesterday of my "up close" shot of the buffalos in the Aspens. Life is crazy, work and taking care of Bill is taking a lot of my time, so I've been very remiss on commenting. I'll try to catch up over the weekend if I can. Just know that I enjoy hearing from you. Have a fantastic day my friends! Linda

03.05.15 Happy Birthday me (yesterday) Thanks for the awesome comments on the Hit-and-Run Snowman picture. I made a carrot cake for my birthday. I sort of used my mom's recipe. Sometimes she would add a can of drained crushed pineapple. I did that. I've been experimenting with substitutions for sugar and/or oil/shortening in recipes. This time I substituted with apple sauce and a ripe banana. This was the best carrot cake I've ever had. Now I need to figure out how to make a healthier cream cheese frosting.
05.03.15 - Magical Forest I've used the "Orton effect" of panning the camera while shooting many times before, but never in almost total darkness like this. The most common technique is to pan quickly at about 1/6th of a second, and this works great in daylight creating impressionistic images. I started out experimenting with very long exposures, 30 seconds+, of the lake at Boultham Park around dusk, but they didn't work our quite as I'd intended. Soon is was dark so I decided to hang around and play with this technique. I got some very nive ghostly images of the trees, but my favourites are these with the orange mist effect on the ground. The "mist" is actually the grass illuminated by streetlights about 30 metres behind me. The result is straight out of camera.
