January 24, 2015 There's just not much to say about this photo. It's pretty easy to see that it's a crazy cool paint job, there's (of course) a reflection of the red car beside this one, and all the other cars around. Lots to look at here. I particularly liked the colors. Yes, I'm a self professed "color-holic" when it comes to the world around me. Thank you for your comments and critiques. Have a crazy cool day today my friends! 01.24.15 I am doing a weekly challenge this year. The theme this week is LIGHT. You'd think light would be easy, since all images are created with light. I have not felt very inspired this week, but today I stopped and at different times, in different light, I played with light and various objects. I took 300 pictures and got very little that really worked. Oh well, this is how we learn. Right? I made this using two candles and a mirror.
Bald Eagle - from a previous series I took earlier in the month. Taken near Olympia, Wa. I really appreciate the comments!

1/24/15 - I woke up the other morning and could see through the blinds the vivid color of sunrise. I jumped into some clothes, grabbed my camera and dashed outside, hoping it would still be there. This is what I saw and captured. No alteration has been made in the color of the sky, although I have lightened up the shadows on the houses a bit. Thanks for your comments on my shot of my daughter's cat, Domino. I appreciate them all.
Cute raccoon at Barr Lake in Colorado! I love..love raccoons!!
Jan.24. Caught this sunrise on my way to work yesterday. I had to jump out and take a picture. Then after getting it on the computer, I noticed the feathered friend in the tree, a nice little bonus.

After using Lightroom for years I've finally broken down and purchased Photoshop. This is my first attempt a creating a poster for a local school. I would appreciate any constructive criticism.
01-24-2015 "Winter Berries" The berries and plant need a little TLC. Comments and critiques are always welcome and appreciated. Donna

This is the entrance to the Flag exhibit at the Smithsonian. In the summer of 1813, Mary Pickersgill (1776–1857) was contracted to sew two flags for Fort McHenry in Baltimore, Maryland. The one that became the Star-Spangled Banner was a 30 x 42–foot garrison flag; the other was a 17 x 25–foot storm flag for use in inclement weather. Pickersgill, a thirty-seven-year-old widow, was an experienced maker of ships’ colors and signal flags. She filled orders for many of the military and merchant ships that sailed into Baltimore’s busy port. Helping Pickersgill make the flags were her thirteen-year-old daughter Caroline; nieces Eliza Young (thirteen) and Margaret Young (fifteen); and a thirteen-year-old African American indentured servant, Grace Wisher. Pickersgill’s elderly mother, Rebecca Young, from whom she had learned flagmaking, may have helped as well. Pickersgill and her assistants spent about seven weeks making the two flags. They assembled the blue canton and the red and white stripes of the flag by piecing together strips of loosely woven English wool bunting that were only 12 or 18 inches wide. http://amhistory.si.edu/starspangledbanner/making-the-flag.aspx
