July 4, 2015 Happy American Independence Day! I didn't have any good 4th of July celebration photos to share, so I thought I would share this little cutie dressed up in her red, white and blue. This is 6-month old Alexa with her patriotic pinwheel, and her cute little red, white and blue outfit. Thank you for your comments and critiques. "No other date on the calendar more potently symbolizes all that our nation stands for than the Fourth of July." ~ Mac Thornberry Have an awesome celebration today my friends! And celebrate the 4th of July safely and with good friends! Linda http://lgood.smugmug.com

July 4 2015 Happy Birthday America! This huge flag is on the Wrigley Building right on the Chicago River at Michigan Avenue.
6/4/15 - Fluffy female robin; I'd never seen a robin so puffed up. She was cleaning her feathers. Check out the feather detail in the largest size. There were so many little branches around that I had difficulty getting the camera to focus on the robin. Responding to some of your comments, I don't think she is pregnant. Most of the robins around here had already hatched and fledged their babies. And, although her fluffy feathers would suggest a cold day, it was actually quite warm... I actually thought the fluffy might be helping cool her off. Thanks for your comments on my final Lexicon entry "sloom." Don't feel bad if you were a bit confused over whether the challenge was still on; I forgot it myself and had already posted a daily when I remembered it was Friday. Thanks to everyone who participated in the Lexicon challenges. It was a lot of fun for me; I hope you all enjoyed it, too. Happy 4th of July to all Americans!

Saturday, July 4, 2015 "STARS AND STRIPES FOREVER" "Many a revolution started with the actions of a few. Only 56 men signed the Declaration of Independence. A few hanging together can lead a nation to change." ~ Wynton Marsalis Independence Day honors the birthday of the United States of America and the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. Thomas Jefferson, is the author of the Declaration of Independence. He led a committee that crafted the declaration between June 11-28, 1776. Jefferson and other discontented representatives from the thirteen colonies, voted and approved it on July 4, 1776. The document declared freedom for the 13 colonies from British rule. It currently resides in the Exhibition Hall of the National Archive in Washington, D.C. Did you know that The Declaration of Independence was not signed by all representatives until August, 1776. To make it official, John Hancock, President of the Continental Congress signed it. Now, can anyone guess where the saying "put your John Hancock on it" came from? God, bless America. America, bless God. Have a safe, patriotic, and spectacular day! (photo taken at a business in our city; presentation created on 5/29/2015) My Homepage: www.GodsChild.SmugMug.com
Happy 4th of July! “Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.” –Abraham Lincoln, Gettysburg Address, November 19, 1863 America the Beautiful O beautiful for spacious skies, For amber waves of grain, For purple mountain majesties Above the fruited plain! America! America! God shed His grace on thee, And crown thy good with brotherhood From sea to shining sea! If you have a few minutes, you can hear the complete song here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IsbEkQBYZPQ Godliness makes a nation great, but sin is a disgrace to any people. Proverb 14:34 NLT Please pray for America and her leaders... Have a happy and safe 4th! Thank you for your views, comments and critiques, much appreciated! Independence Day July 4, 2015
