July 6, 2015 Thank you all for your comments on my shot of the light and shadow play on the leaves yesterday. I was thrilled and enjoyed each of your comments. Today's shot was taken by my P&S camera several years ago. This is a gathering of my co-workers in San Antonio. I rather liked the reflections of Andres' face (the man behind the glass) in the surface of the wine inside the glass. "I'm like old wine. They don't bring me out very often - but I'm well preserved." ~ Rose Kennedy Thank you for your comments & critiques! Have a fine day today! Linda http://lgood.smugmug.com
Elderly woman collecting wild tarragon (tarkhoon) (best larger) She will use the herbs (sabzi) to make a Persian dish called sabzi khordan (translation means 'to eat greens or herbs'). Observed near the tomb of Cyrus the Great. A view of the tomb of Cyrus the Great, ~530 BC, can be seen here: http://goo.gl/0LilNr 06/07/15 www.allenfotowild.com

Jimson weed (Datura stramonium)... Datura stramonium, known by the common names Jimson weed or datura is a plant in the Solanaceae (nightshade) family, which is believed to have originated in the Americas, but is now found around the world. For centuries, datura has been used as an herbal medicine to relieve asthma symptoms and as an analgesic during surgery or bonesetting. It is also a powerful hallucinogen and deliriant, which is used spiritually for the intense visions it produces. However the tropane alkaloids which are responsible for both the medicinal and hallucinogenic properties are fatally toxic in only slightly higher amounts than the medicinal dosage, and careless use often results in hospitalizations and deaths. www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datura_stramonium Juanita Cook Trail Fullerton, CA Thanks for your views, comments and critiques, always appreciated! Monday, July 6, 2015 "LEISURE" "Those who decide to use leisure as a means of mental development, who love good music, good books, good pictures, good plays, good company, good conversation - what are they? They are the happiest people in the world." ~ William Lyon Phelps A prop in the lobby area near the main entrance to the restaurant that has one of the best buffets. My beautician of 25 years told me about this place. Thanks for perusing, commenting on, and/or giving my photos a thumbs up. Have a marvelous Monday; and for those who are not retired, have a great start to the work week, also. July 6 2015 Climbing wall The city recently completed a 20 acre park on the lakefront name Maggie Daley Park after Chicago's long time Mayor Daley's wife. This is the climbing wall http://maggiedaleypark.com/ Thanks for all the comments on yesterday's post
07-06-2015 "Sheep Farm" We saw this sheep farm on Highway 1 in California. It was a very unusual farm on the east side of the highway. There was a tunnel under the road they could go through to the ocean side of the highway. Now that's the best of both worlds. Your comments are always welcome and appreciated. Donna
