Yesterday I woke up at sunrise. The sun was barely over the horizon at southeast. As I looked out of my bedroom window I saw this landscape to the northwest with the full moon as a golden coin. I at once grabbed my camera, opened the window even as the temperature was minus 10° centigrade and made some shots. Here is one of them. 10 minutes later the sun was well over the horizon, the sky was lit and the moon hardly to be seen.

Sunday, February 20, 2011 "O is for ORNAMENT" "A true friend is someone who knows your faults and genuinely loves and accepts you anyway." ~ Unknown Author This is a beautiful, crystal Christmas tree ornament that was a gift from my best friend in 2009. I turned off the lights in the room to darken the background. Also, I intentionally did not position the camera to center the photo, because I had an "eye" for something different. Additionally, before I pushed the button to take the picture, I twisted the hanger to make the ornament spin - thus, the variations in color. Finally, as the French saying goes, "Voila!" Tuesday, December 27, 2011 "BROKEN, BUT BEAUTIFUL" "Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another, 'What! You too? I thought I was the only one." ~ C.S. Lewis No flash and SOOC, other than the border.......final Christmas theme post of the year:) It was Christmas in November when I received this! My best friend (of 23 years) and I exchanged Christmas gifts when she (and her family) were here during the Thanksgiving holidays. I think she's started a tradition of giving me a Christmas tree ornament each year. Unfortunately, when I pulled this one out of the bag, it was broken (most likely during shipping), although you probably cannot tell in this photo. It's an angel inside the ornament that's suppose to sit atop the base and light up once the light switch is turned on. Actually, it's amazing how much I like the fact that the angel appears to be sitting at the base of the ornament holding a picture. Nevertheless, it's beautiful and I love and appreciate it. The frame was applied from PicNik. View the 2010 ornament here: http://godschild.smugmug.com/Project365/Daily-Dose-of-One-A-Day-2011/15049328_sF4n2j#1192553561_ebJxx-A-LB The glass bowl in the background is the one in the Thursday, December 22, 2011 post, which can be viewed or reviewed here: http://godschild.smugmug.com/Project365/Daily-Dose-of-One-A-Day-2011/15049328_sF4n2j#1595885649_SVSM4TJ-A-LB I wholeheartedly appreciate your comments on my photos and I enjoy perusing your outstanding photos. Five days until the 2012 new year....... Have a terrific Tuesday everyone!!! ***#6 photo of the day*** (received ornament 11/25/2011; photo taken 12/1/2011) My Homepage: http://www.Godschild.smugmug.com
Thursday, December 11, 2014 "MARBLES CENTERPIECE" Abstract III "If you look for Me at Christmas, you won’t need a special star. I’m no longer just in Bethlehem; I’m right there where you are. You may not be aware of Me amid the celebration; you’ll have to look beyond the stores and all the decorations. But if you take a moment from your list of things to do, and listen to your heart, you’ll find I’m waiting there for you. You’re the one I want to be with, you’re the reason that I came; and you’ll find Me in the stillness as I’m whispering your name.....Love, The Savior, Jesus Christ” ~ Unknown Author Another one of my artistic creations and a personal favorite........and I'm seriously considering having it made into an actual Christmas tree ornament. It was created from the "Marbles Centerpiece" Abstract II photo that was a daily post on April 30, 2011. View it here: http://godschild.smugmug.com/DailyPhotos/Daily-Dose-of-One-A-Day-2011-/i-3nqKQWg/A You would be surprised at what the original photo looks like in comparison to this abstract. 2-23: I woke up at 5:30 Sunday morning thinking about work and a task I'm supposed to finish soon so I decided to go to work for a while. I know it sounds really sad but it did give me an opportunity to take some pictures! This was taken near the Arapaho Bend natural area just down the hill from HP. I like the morning light on the grass
