Jan.26. Red-bellied Woodpecker showing its tongue. The tongue is so long it forks in the throat, goes below the base of the jaw, and wraps behind and over the top of the head, where the forks rejoin and insert in the bird's right nostril or around the eye socket.
January 26 2015 Café Du Monde In October we went to New Orleans with four friends from New York. You have to have a beignet at Café Du Monde. Update: To answer arctangent's question - I don't know of a trick. The powdered sugar gets everywhere; a real mess. I should have taken an after picture. :-)

Monday, January 26, 2015 "COCA-COLA MECCA" (The Metamorphosis) "What's great about this country is that America started the tradition where the richest consumers buy essentially the same things as the poorest. You can be watching TV and see Coca-Cola, and you can know that the President drinks Coke. Liz Taylor drinks Coke, and just think, you can drink Coke, too." ~ Andy Warhol Focal Black and White (pp'd with PicMonkey)..... Here's an interior photo of the retro restaurant that I posted a photo of yesterday. There are a plethora of Coca-Cola paraphernalia throughout the restaurant and the photo ops are limitless. I couldn't decide whether I wanted green tea or cranberry tea, so I ordered a mixture of both. After taking a sip, I commented to our server that it was so good that they should not only serve it as "God's Child's Cran-Green Tea" but that I needed to patent it in case they do, so I can receive my fair share of the royalties:). If you're ever in the area, it's a wonderful place to eat with equally impressive and attentive service. Have a marvelous Monday! Phil's Filling Station and Grill 16852 E. Reflection in a motorcycle mirror During my Santa Fe Photography course, one assignment was to capture photos of reflections. This was my fun one -- me, taking the picture of people on the street with the motorcycle owner at the bottom.

Red Rock Canyon Natl Park A fabulous day yesterday at Red Rock Canyon. About 1 hr's drive from Las Vegas, I felt I was in another world. Yet at the highest elevation along the scenic drive, you can see the Strip. Look closely and you can see the people on the trail down into the Calico Tanks.

Sunday, May 15, 2011 "ANTIQUE CHEVY" (pp version) "Keep calm and drive a Chevy!" ~ Unknown Author Linda (aka Lgood) is one of the absolute best at capturing automobile shots and their reflections, and I immediately thought of her when I spotted this GM classic. Unfortunately, there wasn't an information card, so I am unsure as to the year of this "oldie but goodie." My hubby's guess is it's a "1930 something Chevy." The pink sign made spectators chuckle. It warned, "UNLESS YOU ARE NUDE.....PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH MY CHEVY! BUCKLES, BELTS, AND BUTTONS SCRATCH." As you can see, I did some pp with this one, but it is uncropped.
