Swainson's Hawk - taken near Kuna, Id. I appreciate the nice comments and the interest in my Turkey Vulture shot! Thank you
08-28-2014 "Magnolia" It amazes me the different things that appear on a Magnolia tree, the beautiful white bloom then this pod and then something that turns red. Thank you so very much for the comments on my photo of John Dale. He is such a sweetie. I didn't get to comment yesterday because I went home for a family celebration of his birthday. Today I'm back in the car and traveling for several days. I will try to comment as much as I can. Donna
8/28/14 - Prickly poppies Thanks for your comments on my shot of the Mustang logo. I have quite a few shots of Mustang logos and each is a bit different. I think it was an inspired idea of Ford's to create this logo.

Getting dark when I took this but Queen Ann's Lace is still beautiful!!!!!!! Post for 28/08/2014
Mother Nature's fantasia Hoodoos with white cap stones, Inspiration Point, Bryce Canyon, Utah. The white rock (cap stone) is harder than the underlying red sandstone, so it protects the underlying rock from erosion. Another close-up of the hoodoos, and the remainder of the White Pocket images, can be seen here: http://goo.gl/yWR7T6 28/08/14 www.allenfotowild.com
Unidentified conservatory plant against a background of Boston Ivy. Both the color and the elegant shape of the blossoms captivated me. Most plants in this conservatory carry labels. This was an unfortunate exception. If you think you know what it is, I'd love to know. DP240-2014 Posted August 28; processed ditto The frame on the left received standard processing. I applied a couple of filters (watercolor and fresco, I think) to the one on the right. Temperate House, Conservatory, Matthaei Botanical Gardens August 27, 2014 Title: Coral Charmers
8/28/2014 ~ Fountain A 'Mayan' Fountain at the the San Antonio Botanical Gardens. I was standing on a small bridge to take this shot, and a second after I pressed the shutter a bratty kid squeezed by me on the narrow bridge and nearly knocked me into the water. Thank you for the lovely comments on yesterday's Roaring Fork shot!
While cooking dinner on the grill this little guy was hanging around. He gave me time to go get my camera and he posed for this shot plus I did not burn my dinner I guess that's a good day.....
August 28, 2014 We didn’t have great weather while on our trip but that didn't stop us from getting out and taking some photos. This pavilion on the water would be a great place to have a family cookout.
Macro dew Aug 28 Cooler overnight temps bring lots of dew to photograph in the morning!
8-28-14. Giant Water Bug. San Felasco State Preserve, Gainesville, Florida. 2014. Giant Water Bug, Toe Biter, Alligator Tick--all names for this true bug. They are big and can grow to 3 inches long! Their piercing, sucking mouthpart can cause a painful bite and they can pinch with their front legs. They eat fish or even baby turtles and snakes! Luckily for me, this one was dead.
