Planes of Fame Airshow... My son and I went to the Planes of Fame Airshow last month. It's a two day annual event and we went on Sunday, as we were unable to make it on Saturday. As one would guess, the crowd was much greater Sunday than Saturday plus we didn't get there until around 11:00 A.M. I understand they do open up earlier for photographers, 8:00 A.M. I believe for an additional charge. Maybe next year! Shooting was a challenge, as people were everywhere, and I was not positioned properly for the in-flight shots. Most, if not all the in-flight shots I managed to get were at full zoom . Even at full zoom (600mm) I found it necessary to crop heavily in PS. Live and learn, as the old saying goes! Also, I will try to share other subject along the way so I don't bore you with Airshow shots. There are a few planes, like today's' post, I am unable to ID , sorry...I should have sprung for a program! May 21, 2015 Not too long ago I was taking photos in Bill's workshop under florescent lights. Then I decided to go outside and walk around the house to take some other photos of whatever caught my eye. The little Redbud tree in the backyard caught my eye because the buds were quickly fading, and the green leaves were starting to pop out. As soon as I took the first photo, I checked the LCD screen, and realized that I had not reset the White Balance. So I changed it and went on shooting. When I downloaded the photos, I sort of liked the "off kilter" color in the blooms here, so I decided to keep and post it just for fun. "Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time." ~ John Lubbock Thank you for your comments and critiques. Have a great and colorful day today my friends. Linda http://lgood.smugmug.com
June 2. As mating season nears to an end, the feathers fan open a huge display along with some rattle and shake to win over the ladies. The male peacock has so many levels of beauty and details to be admired. Flamingo Gardens, Davie, FL.

Sunday, May 15, 2011 "ANTIQUE CHEVY" (The Metamorphosis) "Keep calm and drive a Chevy!" ~ Author Unknown Linda (aka Lgood) is one of the absolute best at capturing automobile shots and their reflections, and I immediately thought of her when I spotted this GM classic. Unfortunately, there wasn't an information card, so I am unsure as to the year of this "oldie but goodie." My hubby's guess is it's a "1930 something Chevy." The pink sign made spectators chuckle. It warned, "UNLESS YOU ARE NUDE.....PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH MY CHEVY! BUCKLES, BELTS, AND BUTTONS SCRATCH." As you can see, I did some pp with this one, but it is uncropped. God is and has been exceptionally kind to all of us; have a blessed and safe Sunday, everyone. 11/23/10 - Tree in the Fog I have been watching and studying this tree for a couple of years now. Whenever there is fog, it seems to stand out from the backdrop...a solitary, lonely figure. I finally made up my mind yesterday to figure out where to park the car to get out to take a picture...not a small feat. I do try to stay safe, but this location is more precarious than some. Most days I am joyful as I spend time with the kids. My life is full of laughter and color; it's vibrant and full of life like many of my pictures. But some days at least deep inside it is like this too. I guess a bit of that side is slipping through today. I stopped to think about my mother for a few minutes when I took this. She was involved in a horrible traffic accident with a tractor trailer on a foggy morning in November just before Thanksgiving in 1985. For me, the fog will always be more than just the fog. Back to bright and cheery tomorrow I promise... Thanks for your comments on Johnny and the Jon boat. It was as serene out there as you thought. Little wind, warm sun on our skin, very few boats out on the lake...a calming hour without the chaos of life. HAGD, Maryann
A shot taken early one morning in July. Two deers were playing in the fog. Unfortunately they were also good at hiding, so I didn't get a good shot with both of them. Suddenly one of them made a fast leap over the field, and I was able to capture this shot. Hanko, Hangö. Finland, EU. (Nikon D300, Sigma 70-200mm/F2.8, Edited with Nikon Capture NX2)
